    摘要: A multi-layer aluminum brazing sheet including a core layer, interliner, braze clad layer and a sacrificial layer, in which the post-braze strength of the brazing sheet is optimized by controlling the manganese (Mn), silicon (Si), copper (Cu) and magnesium (Mg) contents of the core layer and the Mn, Si and Cu content of the interliner and the Mn, Si and Zn content of the sacrificial layer and the specifics of the braze thermal cycle. The brazing sheet maintains corrosion resistance, while optimizing post-braze strength, by utilizing 0.5 wt. % to 1.2 wt. % Cu in the interliner. Further, the interliner and sacrificial layer of the brazing sheet contain low or no magnesium to maintain the brazing sheet's braze-ability.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an improved method of producing aluminum alloy can body stock and can end stock which are particularly suitable for use in manufacturing aluminum alloy can bodies and ends for can bodies. The method for can body stock includes roll casting an aluminum alloy strip having a thickness of less than about 1 to 5 mm and, subsequently, batch annealing the strip, followed by cold rolling, continuous annealing, quenching and cold rolling to desired gauge. The aluminum alloy sheets may then be employed in manufacturing aluminum alloy can bodies. The process produces aluminum alloy sheet having an improved combination strength and caring properties with acceptable surface characteristics. Unique aluminum alloys usable in the claimed processes are also disclosed. In another embodiment, can ends are made by roll casting, followed by cold rolling preferably without prior thermal treatment, continuous annealing, quenching and cold rolling to the desired gauge.

    摘要: A combination of welding wire and welding flux for submerged arc welding of high strength low alloy pipe which require low temperature impact properties of at least 30 ft./lb. at -13.degree. F. The wire consists essentially of 2.0 to 3.5 wt. % manganese; 0.01 wt. % to 1.5 wt. % silicon; 0.05 to 0.15 wt. % carbon; balance iron with the proviso that when manganese is greater than 2.5 up to 3.5 wt. % the silicon content is between 0.01 wt. % to 1.5 wt. % and when the manganese content is between 2.0 to 2.5 wt. % the silicon content is greater than 0.3 wt. % up to 1.5 wt. %. The flux used with these wires is preferably acidic in nature.
