摘要: The ideal design for a fan with variable performance that can replace a family of current axial flow ducted, un-ducted, and centrifugal fan designs by meeting air flow and pressure requirements while drawing less electric current to rotate and thus produce the required flow not only would reduce cost of operation over the life of the fan but opens new possibilities for direct connection to solar collection systems by greatly extending the life of the battery charge employed by the designer of the collection system. In addition the entry of flying machines using pairs of lifting fans such as hover bikes and quadcopters, manned or unmanned is driving a need to re-examine the application of force applied to rotate these fans to achieve a reduction in aircraft weight and increase flying time for a given battery charge or load of fuel.

摘要: An electronic notification pet collar is shown and described. The pet collar includes a collar strap. The collar strap has an interior volume. The interior volume houses wiring connected to lighting and an external component module. The collar strap has an externally affixed component module that houses a CPU, a GPS module, a wireless transceiver, a mute button, a speaker, and a battery pack. The CPU is connected to a plurality of lights that are located through the collar strap. There is a speaker located within the external component module. The CPU and GPS are coupled to a wireless transceiver. The wireless transceiver is connected to a mobile device which is configured to set visual and audible alarms as well as control collar light display. The mobile device controls and activates the visual and audible alarms on the mobile device and collar as well as the GPS module.

摘要: An apparatus for detecting sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea, includes a housing insertable into an ear canal of a subject. A sensor disposed within the housing measures a position of the subject's head relative to an axis of gravity. A transducer is responsive to the sensor and is capable of creating a stimulus detectable by the subject under certain conditions. In various embodiments, a controller receives signals corresponding to a pitch angle and a roll angle of the subject's head measured by the sensor, determines if the pitch and roll angles correspond to a sleep apnea inducing position, and causes the transducer to generate a stimulus upon determining that the subject's head is in the sleep apnea inducing position more than a predetermined threshold number of times. Various parameters of the stimulus may be modified with successive stimulus generation until a non-sleep apnea inducing position is detected.

摘要: A power rack adjustable telescopically in height, width and depth to work in conjunction with any barbell lift and any weightlifting equipment a first upright subassembly, a second upright subassembly, a third upright subassembly and a fourth upright subassembly. A first lateral subassembly is releasably connected to the first and second upright subassemblies. A second lateral subassembly is releasably connected to the first and fourth upright subassemblies. A third lateral subassembly is releasably connected to the second and third upright subassemblies. A weight safety catch is releasably mounted on each of the first and second upright subassemblies. The first and second upright subassemblies define an adjustable height of the power rack, the first lateral subassembly defines an adjustable width of the power rack, and the second and third lateral subassemblies define an adjustable depth of the power rack.

摘要: A method of producing male or female sterile plants comprising the steps of transforming plant material with a polynucleotide which encodes at least one enzyme which reacts with a non-phytotoxic substance to produce a phytotoxic one, and regenerating the thus transformed material into a plant, wherein the said non-phytotoxic substance is applied to the plant up to the time of male or female gamete formation and/or maturation, so that the non-phytotoxic substance provides for the production of a phytotoxic one which selectively prevents the formation of or otherwise renders the said gametes non-functional, wherein the enzyme is expressed preferentially in either male or female reproductive structures, characterised in that (i) the non-phytotoxic substance is D-phosphinothricin and (ii) the enzyme is a D-amino acid oxidase.

摘要: A cable has an integrated cable management system for organizing multiple cables. The body of the cable has a first mating surface with a first interlocking element disposed thereon and a second mating surface with a second interlocking element disposed thereon the second mating surface, where the first interlocking element is configured as a complementary interlocking element for the second interlocking element, so that multiple cables may be joined without the use of additional cable-organizing devices. The first interlocking element may include at least one coupling recess formed in the first mating surface and configured to engage with an interlocking element having the same configuration as the second interlocking element.
