    摘要: Disclosed are a polarizing plate, a method of fabricating the polarizing plate, and a liquid crystal display including the polarizing plate. The polarizing plate includes a polarizing film and a supporting film arranged on at least one of an upper surface and a lower surface of the polarizing film. At least one of the polarizing film and the supporting film includes a light absorbing material that partially absorbs the light polarized by the polarizing film. The liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal panel and the polarizing plate including the light absorbing material. The liquid crystal panel includes first and second substrates facing each other and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and second substrates. The polarizing plate is attached to the liquid crystal panel.

    摘要: In a voltage generating circuit and a display apparatus, a driving voltage generator receives an input voltage to output a first driving voltage and a second driving voltage that is inversely proportional to a temperature in response to a feedback voltage. A temperature compensator generates the feedback voltage as a function of the temperature and the second driving voltage and applies it to the driving voltage generator. A gate-on voltage generator pumps the second driving voltage to generate a gate-on voltage, and a gamma voltage generator outputs a plurality of gamma voltages, each having a different voltage level that is disposed between the first driving voltage and a ground voltage. The gate-on voltage, which is inversely proportional to the temperature, is applied to the gate driver, and the gamma voltages, which are maintained at constant levels, prevent the response speed of the display apparatus from varying with temperature.

    摘要: Gate lines are formed on an insulating substrate, and data lines crossing the gate lines are formed. The gate lines and the data lines are insulated from each other and intersect each other to define pixel areas. A thin film transistor including three terminals of a gate electrode, a source electrode and a drain electrode is formed in each pixel area. A direction control electrode and a pixel electrode are also formed in each pixel area. The thin film transistor switches the direction control electrode. The pixel electrode is electronically floating and capacitively coupled with the direction control electrode.

    摘要: A pixel electrode and a direction control electrode capacitively coupled to the pixel electrode are provided in a pixel. A pixel thin film transistor is connected to a gate line, a data line, and the pixel electrode. A direction control electrode thin film transistor is connected to a previous gate line, a previous data lines or a next data line, and the direction control electrode. The gate lines are supplied with scanning signals, and each scanning signal includes first and second pulses in a frame. The first pulse of a scanning signal is synchronized with the second pulse of a previous scanning signal.
