    摘要: A content playback device reduces user discomfort, relative to conventional devices, when playback is interrupted and resumed after switching viewing modes, pieces of content representing different viewing modes for a common product, and differing in video length or having other differences. The content playback device receives and plays back streaming content from a content server delivering two pieces of content having different viewing modes for the common product, and comprises: a selection unit selecting a viewing mode; a determination unit determining whether playback of a first piece of content not having the selected viewing mode was interrupted; a conversion unit converting, when the determination unit has determined affirmatively, a playback interrupt position into a corresponding position in a second piece of content having the selected viewing mode; and a request unit making a request to the content server for transmission of the second piece of content from the corresponding position.

A license accumulation control unit (102) and a license transfer control unit (103) identifies a usage-rule type (204) which indicates whether or not a license (200) includes a usage rule (205) which requires updating each time a content is used, and encrypts the license (200) by using different encrypting methods depending on whether or not the usage rule (205) is included in the license (200). The license accumulation control unit (102) encrypts a content key: with a domain key when the license 200 does not include the usage rule (205); and with a license management device unique key, when the usage rule (205) is included, and accumulates the encrypted key in a license accumulation unit (110). The license transfer control unit (103), when the license (200) does not include the usage rule (205), reads the license (200) from the license accumulation unit (110) and transfers the license (200) with encryption maintained by using a license transfer unit (transfer method B) (105).

    摘要: An IC card (processing terminal) divides a process into process blocks, and holds a time period required for processing each process block. A receiver (receiving terminal) notifies the IC card of a time period which can be spent for processing non-real-time process data when causing the IC card to perform the processing. The IC card processes the process blocks which can be processed within the notified time period. After the processing, the IC card once sends a response back to the receiver, and then transitions into a state in which it can receive a new request. Accordingly, it becomes possible for the IC card to process real-time process data such as an ECM. In the case where the receiver continues the suspended processing, it notifies the IC card of the continuation of the processing so that it causes the IC card to continue the processing of non-real-time process data.
