摘要: An electrographic imaging process is described in which electrostatic images are toned in sequence to form a multicolor intermediate image on a temporary dielectric receptor. The intermediate image is then transferred to a permanent receptor. Certain relative properties of the toner and the intermediate image, such as surface energy, T.sub.g, work of adhesion, and complex dynamic viscosity, have been found to be important to the production of good final images.

摘要: A multi-module radiation detecting device, a radiation detecting module for incorporation in a multi-module radiation detecting device, and a method for assembling a multi-module radiation detecting device are provided. The radiation detecting module includes a carrier substrate and a radiation detecting tile mounted over the carrier substrate. The module includes interconnection structure for connecting radiation detecting elements in the radiation detecting tile to conductive contacts on a base substrate. The module facilitates attachment and detachment of the module relative to the base substrate and relative to a test fixture used in test and burn-in operations. The module is constructed to isolate the radiation detecting tile from thermal and/or mechanical stresses produced at the interconnection interface during attachment and detachment for test and burn-in, assembly, and rework operations. As a result, the module can be used to produce a multi-module radiation detecting device having enhanced reliability. The module can help maintain device reliability despite rework operations, and can thereby reduce rework costs.

摘要: For control of static ink delivery pressure, a system and method make use of an outer chamber having a first outlet for delivery of ink to an ink printing mechanism, an inner chamber having a second outlet for delivery of ink to the outer chamber, and a pressure source that applies negative pressure to the outer chamber. The inner chamber maintains an internal negative pressure that is selected to control a level of the ink within the outer chamber relative to a height of the second outlet within the outer chamber. In particular, inner chamber maintains the ink level at a substantially constant level by replenishing the volume of ink within the outer chamber upon consumption. When ink is consumed by the ink printing mechanism, the inner chamber delivers a proportional volume of ink to the outer chamber that is sufficient to restore the ink to the desired level. The negative pressure applied to the outer chamber is operative on the substantially constant volume of ink maintained within the outer chamber, and can be readily selected to provide a substantially uniform static ink delivery pressure from the outer chamber to the ink printing mechanism. For an inkjet printhead, the level of negative pressure applied to the outer chamber serves to control static nozzle pressure to avoid excessive wetting that can adversely affect jetting characteristics. The level of negative pressure can be selected based on the physical characteristics of the ink, the printing mechanism, or both.

摘要: A thin flexible film is loaded into an interior surface of a hollow image-processing drum by releasably adhering a sheet of the film to a carrier. The carrier is admitted into the drum and positioned in spaced relation to the interior surface of the drum. The upper surface of the carrier is urged to the surface of the drum to place the sheet in residence against the interior surface of the drum. The sheet of film is releasably adhered to the drum and the carrier is removed from the drum. A receptor sheet may be placed within the drum and a donor sheet placed over it in a similar manner.
