    摘要: A fuel dispensing nozzle incorporating a double poppet valve assembly enables a user to more controllably and accurately dispense fuel through the nozzle. The double poppet valve assembly has a larger outer poppet and a smaller inner poppet, such that the user can open both poppets together or merely open the smaller inner poppet alone. The outer poppet enables a high rate of fuel to flow through the nozzle when the outer poppet is opened. The inner poppet, located within the body of the outer poppet, allows a reduced rate of fuel to flow through the nozzle when the inner poppet is opened but the outer poppet is closed, enabling the user to dispense more precise amounts of fuel.

    摘要: A pressure/vacuum vent of the present invention is mountable to the vent pipe of a storage tank. The vent includes a valve housing having a wall defining a chamber which is in fluid communication with said storage tank. It includes a first valve responsive to an over-pressure condition of a first pressure, a second valve responsive to an over-pressure condition at a second pressure; and a third valve responsive to an under-pressure condition. The first and second pressures are different so that one valve will open at a small pressure and the other will open at a larger pressure. The first valve is a poppet valve, and the second and third valves are diaphragm valves. The valve housing is contained in a vent housing. The vent housing includes a floor through with a bottom stem of the valve housing extends and which has drain holes. A cover is mounted to a top portion of the valve housing to cover the vent housing. The cover is spaced from a top of the vent housing.

    摘要: A fuel dispensing nozzle (10) has a body (12) in which a fuel passage is formed. A spout assembly (18) is attachable to the body in fluid communication therewith for fuel to flow from the body through the spout and into a tank (T). A valve (20) is interposed in the passage and controls fuel flow through the body. A flexible bellows (80) fits over the spout with the outer end (72) thereof sealingly engaging an inlet (I) of the tank to prevent fuel vapors from escaping into the atmosphere. A control apparatus is responsive to movement of the bellows when the spout is inserted into the tank to open the valve, and to removal of the spout from the tank to close the valve. An apparatus (176) is responsive to the vapor pressure within the tank to effect closing of the valve when an overpressure condition occurs thereby to prevent vapor from escaping into the atmosphere. The apparatus includes first and second pivotally connected levers (132, 136) one of which moves in response to movement of the bellows and the other of which moves in response to the vapor pressure reaching a predetermined level indicative of the tank being substantially full to close the valve and prevent vapors from escaping.

    摘要: A composition capable of selectively plugging highly permeable zones in a subterranean formation. The composition forms a gel subsequent to its injection into the formation via an injection wall. The composition comprises an aqueous solution of a welan gum heteropolysaccharide biopolymer produced by the fermentation of a microorganism of the genus Alcaligenes, a phenolic compound, an aldehyde and water. The compositions of this invention will form stable gels even in low salinity brines. Also provided is a process for selectively plugging regions of higher permeability within an oil-bearing subterranean formation to improve sweep efficiency during a fluid flood oil recovery process using the gel-forming compositions of this invention.
