    摘要： A reflection mirror that causes an illumination light to be incident on a movable scale is oscillated in an X-axis direction based on a modulation signal. Accordingly, the optical path of the illumination light, of the illumination light and another illumination light generated at an index scale, periodically changes, and as a consequence, the illumination light is periodically modulated. Accordingly, an extra scanner that scans the illumination light or another illumination light with respect to the movable scale does not have to be arranged, which allows an apparatus to be reduced in size and cost.

    摘要： A photoelectric encoder includes a light source of an illumination light beam. The encoder also includes a movable grating which has grating lines and which is displaceable in a direction intersecting the grating lines. An index grating serves as a reference for displacement of the movable grating. A light-receiver receives the illumination light beam via the movable grating and the index grating. A modulator periodically changes a light beam outgoing from the index grating. A displacement detector detects the displacement of the movable grating based on the illumination light beam received by the light-receiver. Accordingly, a signal representing the displacement of a movable body can be accurately generated even when fluctuation of the attitude of the grating occurs.

    摘要： A full automatic washing machine includes in an operation panel a display device together with power ON and OFF switches and a light-emitting diode serving as a pilot lamp. The display device is formed into the shape of a rectangular flat plate and has elasticity. The display device is constituted by a nematic curvilinear aligned phase (NCAP) liquid crystal panel and a reflecting plate. The display device includes a plurality of display sections for displaying a plurality of pieces of information about the washing operation. A membrane switch is disposed on the back of the display device. The membrane switch is turned on when the display device is depressed. The membrane switch has a plurality of key switches positioned so as to correspond to the display sections of the display device.
