    Abstract: The present disclosure concerns methods of using novel bacterial strains of 0617-T307, 0917-T305, 0917-T306, 0917-T307, 0118-T319, 0318-T327, and 0418-T328, and the cell broth and novel metabolites produced from the bacterial strains, to inhibit the growth of a variety of pathogenic microorganism for a variety of crops. This method is effective against a broad range of fungal pathogens, including Pythium aphanidermatum, Podosphaera xanthii, Plasmopara viticola, Erysiphe cichoracearum, Pseudoperonospora cubensis, Clarireedia jacksonii, Microdochium nivale, and Podosphaera leucotricha. The methods include the application of Formula (I) in various formulations to inhibit pathogenic microorganisms in crops such as cucurbits, legumes, leafy greens, root vegetables, oilseed crops, ornamental plants, fruit crops, and turfgrass. The methods include the use of an agricultural composition including a novel, potent antimicrobial metabolite produced from the bacterial strains corresponding to the compound having Formula (I):

    Abstract: A cured concrete and stone bore working tool and method of forming radially oriented discontinuities in a bore or perforation formed in a cured concrete or stone material such that, after use or application of the tool, the perforation formed in the cured concrete or stone material is configured to provide a non-planar adhesive interface and isolate a properly sized anchor or fastener from direct contact with the wall of the bore. Fasteners or anchors adhesively secured in bores previously treated with the bore treating tool exhibit improved creep failure performance as compared to fasteners adhesively secured to untreated bores.

    Abstract: A three-layer system composed of a substrate, a metal or metal alloy thin film deposited on the substrate surface, and an overlaid stimulus-responsive polymer layer detects changes in environmental conditions brought about by physical, chemical, or biological stimuli. The thin metal or metal alloy film functions as an optical filter and the polymer layer changes properties (e.g., dimensions) in response to changing environmental conditions that manifests as a change in wavelength of reflected or filtered light. The system is useful in colorimetric sensors.

    Abstract: A system for detecting the presence of biofilm on an inner surface of a body used for containing a fluid medium. The system includes a transmitter disposed at a first location external to the body, a receiver located at a second location external to the body, and an electronic controller. The electronic controller configured to control the transmitter to transmit an ultrasonic signal in a direction towards the body and receive, via the receiver, an attenuated signal that is the ultrasonic signal after passing through the body. The electronic controller is configured to determine a phase shift between the ultrasonic signal and the attenuated ultrasonic signal, determine an amplitude difference between the ultrasonic signal and the attenuated ultrasonic signal, and generate an indication of an amount of biofilm present on the inner surface of the body based on the phase shift and the amplitude difference.
