    摘要: The present invention relates to a method of and an apparatus for feeding gaseous or liquid fluid into a medium. The method and apparatus in accordance with the present invention are especially suitable in various fields of industry for mixing gaseous and liquid chemicals and steams into a flow containing at least liquid. The method and apparatus in accordance with the present invention are most preferably suitable for feeding steam into the fiber suspensions of wood processing industry. Most preferably the method and apparatus in accordance with the present invention is used, for example, in such a way that a side flow is taken from a first medium flowing along a suction duct (16) of a centrifugal pump (10), which side flow is recirculated by means of a conduit (18) and into which second medium is fed via a duct (24) in such a way that said side flow and second medium are fed into said first medium flowing in the suction duct (16) prior to taking said side flow from said first medium in view of the main flow direction of said first medium.

    摘要: In the inventive method and apparatus for the continuous discharge of water and fine particles from a suspension, particularly fibrous pulp, the pulp or suspension is thickened without forcing the removal of water through a relatively thick, uncontrollably gathered fiber mat. In the method, the suspension to be thickened is fed into a filtering chamber, the suspension is continuously mixed for equalizing consistency differences, the liquid is continuously removed from the suspension through a filter and the thickness of a fiber mat which forms on the filter surface is controlled by subjecting the mat to shear stresses. In a thickening apparatus for practicing this method, at least one of co-operating surfaces--i.e. the filtering surface (8) and its counter-surface (10)--is provided with loosening members (12) for non-mechanically limiting the thickness of a fiber mat forming on the filtering surface and thereby preventing the uncontrolled formation of such a mat on the filtering surface (8).

Low-pressure (e.g. 3-5 bar (abs.)) steam is supplied into the pulp flowing as a plug flow in such a way that in the flow direction of the pulp, before supplying the low-pressure steam, the pulp is pressurized so that the pulp pressure at the point of the steam introduction is lower than the pressure of the available steam. After the steam is introduced the pulp is mixed with a pressure-raising mixer (such as a fluidizing centrifugal pump) to divide the steam evenly into the pulp and/or to equalize the temperature of the pulp.

The pressure of the suspension further is increased so that the suspension flowing into the apparatus need not be pressurized. The apparatus includes a vortex chamber provided with one inlet and several outlets, at least one of the outlets is preferably provided with a device for regulating the flow through the outlet. The apparatus further includes a rotor for moving the suspension through the several outlets towards further processing devices.

    摘要: A centrifugal pump for pumping fiber suspensions includes a centrifugal pumping housing (50) having an inlet (52) and an outlet for the suspension and a centrifugal impeller within the centrifugal pump housing. A vacuum pump (70) is placed adjacent the centrifugal pump housing (50) and includes a vacuum pump chamber defined by first and second opposed side walls (110, 112) and a vacuum pump rotor which is eccentrically mounted within the vacuum pump chamber. The rotor has radially extending opposed side edges facing the vacuum pump side walls (110, 112) forming a clearance therebetween. The pump includes a conduit within at least one of the vacuum pump side walls (110, 112) for supplying a sealing liquid to the clearance (122) between the rotor and at least one of the side walls of the vacuum pump chamber (76). Flushing liquid may be supplied through the same sealing liquid conduits or separately therefrom. The centrifugal pump may include a fluidizing impeller.

The second chamber portion is partitioned into a plurality of spaces by a plurality of back vanes secured to the plate and a liquid rotatable within the second chamber portion upon the impeller rotating whereby to create pressure differences in the spaces for removing gas in the second chamber portion through the vent.

    摘要: A fluidizing centrifugal pump for medium to high consistency fiber suspension includes a housing having an inlet channel and an outlet and an impeller operatively rotatable about the pump axis. The impeller has a working vane and at least a blade extending substantially axially from the working vane and disposed in the inlet channel for fluidizing suspension which is received in the pump inlet. A feeding vane, preferably in the form of a spiral thread, is disposed in the inlet channel, radially-outwardly from the fluidizing blade and extending along at least a portion of the axial extension of the blade. The feeding vane, which may be operatively rotatable with the impeller or stationarily fixed to the pump housing, provides axially-directed feeding of suspension through the inlet channel toward the working vanes, concurrent with fluidizing of suspension in the channel by the impeller blade, thereby effectively preventing reverse flow of suspension in the inlet channel and correspondingly increasing the operating efficiency of the centrifugal pump.
