Abstract:
in an artificial general intelligence system that is safe for humans, distributed ledger technology (DLT, ‘blockchain’) is integral to the methods to reduce the probability of hacking, provide an audit trail to cheaply detect and correct errors or identify components causing vulnerability or failure and replace them or shut them down remotely and/or automatically. Smart contracts based on DLT are necessary to address evolution of AI that will be too fast for human monitoring and intervention. Proposed methods of a safe AGI system: 1) Access to technology by market license. 2) Transparent ethics embodied in DLT. 3) Morality encrypted via DLT. 4) Behavior control structure with values (ethics) at roots. 5) Individual bar-code identification of all critical components. 6) Configuration Item (from business continuity/disaster recovery planning). 7) Identity verification secured via multi-factor authentication and DLT. 8) ‘Smart’ automated contracts based on DLT. 9) Decentralized applications—AI software code modules encrypted via DLT. 10) Audit trail of component usage stored via DLT. 11) Social ostracism (denial of societal resources) augmented by DLT petitions.

Abstract:
Methods and systems for three-dimensionally imaging an apical dome located at the cotyledon end of a plant embryo are provided. Three-dimensional information of an apical dome can be obtained by scanning the apical dome at varying focal planes along an axis of the embryo, or by using multiple cameras arranged in a confocal manner to image the apical dome. It can also be obtained by irradiating the apical dome with polychromatic light, wherein light beams of multiple wavelengths are focused at multiple focal planes along the axis of the embryo so that the dome's height information can be obtained based on the wavelength of the light precisely focused and reflected at each surface point of the dome. The three-dimensional information is used to ascertain various morphological features (e.g., size, shape, texture, etc.) of the apical dome, which are in turn used to assess the embryo's germinant vigor.
Abstract:
A data transformation and exchange server receives an input data stream from one or more application servers and/or computing devices. The data stream includes a plurality of input records and each input record can be in a different input protocol and/or character encoding. The transformation and exchange server determines each input record in the input data stream based on one or more boundary points and determines a template from a plurality of templates based on the input record. The transformation and exchange server transforms the input record into an output record based on the template and communicates the output record via an output data stream.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed towards methods for the classification of plant embryos by the application of one or more classification algorithms to analyze digitized images and absorption, transmittance, or reflectance spectra. The methods are generally applicable and emphasize the importance of acquiring and using as much image and absorption, transmittance, or reflectance spectral information as possible, based on objective criteria. The present invention allows automated selection of embryos most suitable for further culture and rejection of those seen as less suitable.

A controller for operating a gas turbine engine, wherein the gas turbine engine is installable in an installation platform, wherein the gas turbine engine includes a compressor, a turbine, and a shaft connecting the turbine to the compressor. The controller includes a program which instructs the controller to run a computer dynamic model of the gas turbine engine, wherein the computer dynamic model has inputs including engine operating conditions and installation platform operating conditions. The controller also is programmed to calculate a dynamic limit on mechanical power extraction from the shaft based at least on the running of the computer dynamic model of the gas turbine engine. A method for operating a gas turbine engine installed in an aircraft includes running a computer dynamic model of the engine and calculating a dynamic limit on mechanical power extraction from a shaft of the engine based at least on the running of the model.
Abstract:
A door latch position detection system incorporating light switching capability and a backup timer includes a relay that is used to switch on the storage unit lighting powered by line voltage. The system includes an AC to DC converter that converts and filters the line voltage to low voltage DC power. The low voltage is fed to a reed switch within a switch housing attached to the overhead door track. When the reed switch that controls the storage unit lighting is closed by withdrawal of the bolt from the track aperture, a low voltage power signal is sent through a normally-on switch to the coil of the relay, thereby closing the relay contacts and turning on the storage unit lights. A timer shuts off the current to the relay after a set period. The present invention may also be utilized in a garage or closet to conserve energy.
