Abstract: A support belt comprising a support member positioned inside a tubeless tire and extending circumferentially about the rim on which the tire is mounted for engaging the tire when it is deflated to prevent the rim from damaging the sidewalls and tread portion of the tire wherein the support member comprises a continuous band encircling the rim and releasably secured or positioned relative thereto by means which are adapted to release when the weight of the vehicle is imposed on the support member upon deflation of the tire to enable the support member to thereafter freely move radially and circumferentially relative to the rotating rim to inhibit damage to the deflated tire.

Abstract: A ledge bed apparatus for use with a patient care bed having a vertically movable bed frame. The apparatus includes a mattress support member adapted to be positioned on the bed frame and a leg assembly. The leg assembly includes an upper leg portion depending from the mattress support member and a lower leg portion pivotally attached to the upper leg portion which is pivotable into substantially vertical alignment therewith. The leg assembly also includes means for locking the upper and lower leg portions in alignment when the lower leg portion is first pivoted into alignment with the upper leg portion and the leg assembly is subsequently vertically loaded by lowering the bed frame so that the lower leg portion engages a load bearing surface and a portion of the mattress support member is supported by the leg assembly in a position elevated with respect to the bed frame, thereby forming a ledge. In addition, the leg assembly includes automatic means for releasing the locking means and pivoting the lower leg portion at an angle with respect to the upper leg portion when the vertical loading is removed by raising the mattress support member so that the lower leg portion is disengaged from the load bearing surface, thereby removing the ledge. In this manner, accidental formation of a ledge when the bed is inadvertently lowered is prevented.

Abstract: An orthospinal chair for exercising the spinal column and back muscles by placing tension on the spine through partial inversion. The orthospinal chair allows partial inversion of a person in a supine, bent-knee position at an easily controllable angle. Abstract: A manual tool for feeding refuse to a garbage grinder disposal includes a unitary body with a head portion adjacent one end of the body. The head portion is provided with a plurality of spaced, longitudinally extending recess means to define longitudinally extending ribs between the recess means whereby the tool may be manually grasped. Shaft means extend longitudinally from the head portion and is of a size for inserting in the garbage grinder disposal, and surface means are provided on the end of the shaft means and project therefrom whereby refuse may be engaged by manual manipulation of the tool and stuffed into the garbage grinder. Surface means on the tool limit the extent the shaft means may be inserted in the garbage grinder disposal.
