    摘要: An integrated pivot-carriage for a hard-disk drive. The integrated pivot-carriage includes a carriage having a center-bore with an integrated bearing-spacer portion. The integrated pivot-carriage also includes a pivot-shaft configured to provide support for rotation of the carriage. The pivot-shaft is disposed within the center-bore of the carriage. In addition, the integrated pivot-carriage includes at least one raceless ball-bearing that is configured to allow rotation of the carriage about the pivot-shaft. The raceless ball-bearing is disposed between the pivot-shaft and the carriage.

    摘要: A system and method for detecting a defect in an actuator arm conductor coil is disclosed. An actuator arm including a conductor coil is received. The conductor coil is coupled with a voltage as an anode. The conductor coil is submerged into a first solution, the first solution having no organic matter therein. The first solution is then coupled with a second solution including an organic indicator. The second solution also includes a cathode coupled to the voltage such that a defect in an insulation layer of the conductor coil is indicated by the organic indicator.

    摘要: Removing contaminants from an electroless nickel (EN) plated surface. A surface of an EN plated object is washed in a first deionized water to remove a first portion of surface contaminants. The surface is immersed into a chemical solution wash for a pre-determined duration to remove nickel phosphate particles from the surface, wherein the chemical solution wash comprises at least one type of chelating agent dissolved in a solvent. The chemically washed surface is then washed in a second deionized water to remove a second portion of the surface contaminants.
