摘要: The present invention relates to damage detection systems for refractory linings for molten metal vessels, comprising an electrically conductive grid disposed underneath the surface of the refractory lining closest to a molten metal when in use, one or more electrically conductive electrodes disposed in contact with the molten metal when in use and an electrical power source, wherein the electrically conductive metallic grid and the one or more electrically conductive electrodes are electrically connected to each other, such as to form an open electrical circuit powered by the said electrical power source, and a detected closure of the said electrical circuit during normal use of the molten metal vessel indicates that the said refractory lining is damaged, or the presence of a molten metal during normal operation of the vessel closes the said electrical circuit in case the refractory lining is damaged. The present invention relates to a method for detecting damage in a refractory lining during use, and the use of a damage detection system according to the invention.

摘要: Tamper-respondent assemblies and methods of fabrication are provided which include at least one tamper-respondent sensor and a detector. The at least one tamper-respondent sensor includes conductive lines which form, at least in part, at least one tamper-detect network of the tamper-respondent sensor(s). The detector monitors the tamper-respondent sensor(s) by applying an electrical signal to the conductive lines of the at least one tamper-respondent sensor to monitor over time for a non-linear conductivity change indicative of a tamper event at the tamper-respondent sensor(s). For instance, the detector may monitor a second harmonic of the electrical signal applied to the conductive lines for the non-linear conductivity change indicative of the tamper event, such as an attempted shunt of one or more conductive lines of the tamper-respondent sensor(s).

摘要: An apparatus and method detect damage of a component of a system. The damage detection apparatus includes a first grid of sensors arranged in a first orientation on a surface of the component and configured to generate a first set of signals. The apparatus also includes a second grid of sensors, independent from the first grid of sensors, arranged in a second orientation on an insulating layer on the surface of the component and configured to generate a second set of signals, the second orientation overlapping with the first orientation. A processor detects the damage based on a change in at least one signal of the first set of signals or the second set of signals.

摘要: A sensing system for use in monitoring the structural health of a structure such as a polymeric matrix composite structure is provided. The system includes a sensor formed from a conductive ink containing carbon nanofibers and a polymeric resin, and a data acquisition system for acquiring and evaluating data from the sensor. The conductive ink may be applied directly to the structure to be monitored in the form of a grid pattern. Damage to the structure may be detected by measuring changes in resistance values detected from the sensor.

摘要: A method and apparatus for dry testing non-conductive containers for carrying people are disclosed. Two conductive materials placed on opposite sides of a material being tested. High voltage is applied to one of the conductive materials while a ground lead is attached to the other conductive material. Electric current is measured from the grounded conductive material to identify any breakdown of the dielectric properties of the material being tested.

摘要: A test environment and an associated method of testing and analyzing a semiconductor package material containing a molding compound, for stability in a sustained oxygen environment. Test samples are exposed to a pressurized gas containing oxygen, under elevated temperature below the glass transition temperature of the molding compound. Control samples are exposed to a pressurized inert gas under similar or more severe conditions of gas pressure, temperature, and humidity. At least one characteristic common to the test samples and the control samples is measured. A determination is made as to whether there exists at least one significant difference between the at least one measured characteristic of the test samples and the control samples.
