Abstract: A paper feeding mechanism, an image forming apparatus employing the same and a paper feeding method thereof are disclosed. In an image forming apparatus capable of performing the printing operations at a particular printing operation that calls for a particular corresponding reference paper feeding speed, a reduction in the paper feeding noise may be achieved by providing a pickup roller operable at pickup/feeding speed that is slower than the reference feeding speed called for by the particular printing speed and a registration roller operable at the reference feeding speed. In addition, the pickup period at which the pickup roller picks up successive sheets of paper may be shortened to account for the slower operating speed of the pickup roller.

Abstract: Minimum deflection acceleration point detection, focus pull-in, and layer jump methods, and an optical disc drive capable of performing the methods. The method of detecting a minimum deflection acceleration point in an optical disc drive includes rotating a disc loaded in the optical disc drive, detecting a first minimum deflection acceleration point of the disc during one rotation cycle of the disc, and detecting a second minimum deflection acceleration point of the disc during one rotation cycle of the disc. Thus, a stable focus pull-in and layer jump is available.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a technology for rapidly executing game play by decreasing the number of pages that need to be loaded by omitting some of one or more predetermined operations which need to be preceded in order to start the game play. A method of executing an online game includes: transmitting, by a server for executing the online game, an inputtable quick start menu item, which omits some of one or more predetermined operations which need to be preceded in order to start game play, and maintains one or more game elements correctable by the predetermined operations to be in a state prior to the start of the play to start the game play, to a user terminal; determining whether at least one omission condition that is a condition under which some operations among the predetermined operations are omitted, is satisfied when receiving a selection-input for the quick start menu item from the user terminal; and controlling the game play to be started when all of the omission conditions are satisfied.

Abstract: A method of estimating inductance of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) includes injecting a signal having a frequency differing from an operating frequency of the PMSM into the PMSM during sensorless operation, sensing magnitudes of current responses to the injected signal, and estimating an inductance value at which the magnitude of the sensed current response is minimal to be an actual inductance value of the PMSM, thereby estimating inductance used in the PMSM regardless of position estimation error of the PMSM and thus more accurately and reliably estimating inductance of the PMSM.
