摘要： An apparatus for electrostatically coating a workpiece has an insulating separator valve mechanism for electrically separating a paint supply passage for supplying an electrically conductive paint to a coating gun, into a paint supply passage to which a high voltage will be applied and a paint supply passage to which no high voltage will be applied. The insulating separator valve mechanism has a first valve body connectable to said paint supply passage through a first on/off valve, and a second valve body connectable to said paint supply passage through a second on/off valve. While the first and second valve bodies are connected to each other and the first and second on/off valves are closed, a paint trap is cleaned by a cleaning medium, which is discharged into a second dump passage. A process of cleaning the paint trap for a paint color change is efficiently and reliably carried out to reliably remove paint residuals from the paint trap.

摘要： An apparatus for electrostatically spray-coating a workpiece with conductive paint which includes a color changeover valve mechanism for selectively supplying conductive paint, cleaning liquid and air. A flush valve mechanism is provided for selectively supplying the cleaning liquid and the air. A first directional control valve includes an outlet and inlets. The inlets are connected to feed lines extending from the color changeover valve mechanism and the flush valve mechanism, respectively. A block line is made of an insulating material and has a first end connected to the outlet of the first directional control valve. The block line includes a second end in communication with the first end. A second directional control valve is provided having outlets and an inlet. The inlet is connected to the second end of the block line. An intermediate reservoir is connected via a feed line to one of outlets of the second directional control valve. A waste-liquid tank is connected via a first discharge line to a second outlet of the second directional control valve. A spray gun is connected via a delivery line to the intermediate reservoir. A second discharge line is branched from the delivery line via a changeover valve. A discharge line cleaning mechanism is provided for selectively supplying at least cleaning liquid and air to the second discharge line. A high voltage is applied to the conductive paint between the second directional control valve and the spray gun.

摘要： A herein is a method of and an apparatus for electrostatically spray-coating a workpiece with electrically-conductive paint. The workpiece is first sprayed with the paint directly subjected to a high voltage from a rotatable atomizing type spray gun so as to electrostatically coat the work with the paint. Thereafter, cleaning liquid is supplied to a rotatable atomizing head through a line for washing after completion of the electrostatic spray coating process so as to clean the rotatable atomizing head. Further, after the rotatable atomizing head has been washed, the line is dried, and the next electrostatic spray coating process is carried out after the line has been dried. The spray gun includes an inner line as a path, for supplying the paint to the rotatable atomizing head, and an outer line as a path used for washing, for supplying the cleaning liquid used to wash the rotatable atomizing head. The inner line oriented toward the rotatable atomizing head has a terminal which projects forward from a terminal of the outer line.

摘要： Disclosed herein is a line jointing structure suitable for use in an electrostatic spray painting apparatus. The line jointing structure is used to connect to a device, an insulating line serving as a path for transportation of electrically conductive paint to which a high voltage is applied. The line jointing structure basically comprises a jointing member having a connecting portion capable of being inserted into an end of the insulating line, a sleeve disposed to cover an outer peripheral surface of the line, a nut for pressing the sleeve toward the connecting portion so as to connect the line to the connecting portion, the nut being fixedly mounted on the jointing member, and insulating seals disposed at both ends of the nut.

摘要： A regulator for water base paint has a casing with an inlet port, an outlet port and a paint chamber. The paint chamber is defined inside the casing in fluid communication with the outlet port. A valve seat is positioned between the paint chamber and the inlet port. A valve is arranged to be pressed against or released from the valve seat depending on an internal pressure in the paint chamber, thereby maintaining the delivery pressure from the outlet port constant. In the regulator having the above construction, the valve and the valve seat are made of corrosion-resistant metallic materials of different hardnesses. One of the valve and the valve seat is made of a ceramic material and the other thereof is made of sintered hard alloy.
