Abstract: The disclosed film backing has a multilayer extensible substrate with a securing adhesive that can secure to a surface and a tab to stretch the extensible substrate to remove the securing adhesive from the underlying surface. Stretching the extensible substrate will easily release the adhesive from the underlying surface. Therefore, a strong adhesive can be used. The multilayer extensible substrate includes an elastic layer forming the core adjacent to a plastically-deforming layers forming the skin to minimize the elasticity of the overall construction.

Abstract: Medical articles comprising a conformable wound dressing and delivery system. The wound dressing generally comprises a backing having a first major surface and a second major surface, an adhesive on the second major surface of the backing, and an absorbent pad proximate the second major surface of the backing. The backing extends beyond the perimeter of the absorbent pad, typically beyond the entire perimeter of the pad. The perimeter of the wound dressing has a concave feature that exhibits a local minimum. An axis extends from the local minimum to the perimeter of the wound dressing opposite the local minimum. The carrier overlies at least a portion of the backing on each side of the axis but does not overlie the backing along the axis. The wound dressing is especially designed for use on round or irregular shaped body parts, such as an elbow or heel.

Abstract: A medical dressing for securing a tubiform component of a medical device is provided. The dressing includes a body having first and second major surfaces, a first flap, a first lateral extension extending in a first direction away from the first flap and a second lateral extension extending in a second direction, opposite the first direction, away from the first flap. The dressing further comprises an adhesive disposed on the second major surface of the first flap, the first lateral extension, and the second lateral extension.
