摘要: Provided are amorphous polyolefin compositions that can be dispensed digitally as the core in a core-sheath construction. These formulations provide dependable adhesion to both polar and non-polar surface in addition to providing a high barrier to air and moisture which is beneficial in many applications. These formulations and the method of processing these formulations provide many benefits, including low VOCs, avoiding die cutting, design flexibility, achieving intricate nonplanar bonding patterns, printing on thin and/or delicate substrates, and printing on an irregular and/or complex topography, no need for release liners or low-adhesion backsize, and no need for a post-processing step.

摘要: A core-sheath filament having a) a core that is a thermally conductive pressure-sensitive adhesive particles and b) a non-tacky, thermoplastic sheath is provided. The thermally conductive pressure-sensitive adhesive in the core includes a (meth)acrylate-based polymeric material and thermally conductive particles. Additionally, methods of making the core-sheath filament and methods of using the core-sheath filament to print a thermally conductive pressure-sensitive adhesive are described.

摘要: A composite film comprises first and second layers. The first layer comprises a first copolymer of monomers comprising tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene, and vinylidene fluoride, wherein the first copolymer contains at least 35 mole percent of vinylidene fluoride monomer units. The second layer is disposed on the first layer, and comprises a second copolymer comprising 50 to 83 weight percent of ethylene monomer units and at least 17 weight percent of alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer units represented by the formula (I) wherein R1 is H or methyl, and each R2 is independently an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms. Methods of making the composite film and articles including it are also disclosed.

The multilayer fluoroplymer films are useful for example, in multi-layer film applications (e.g., traffic sign protection, commercial graphic protection, paint protection, windows, windshields, building exteriors, and photo voltaics).

摘要: The present disclosure provides a core-sheath filament. The core-sheath filament includes an adhesive core and a non-tacky sheath, wherein the sheath exhibits a melt flow index of less than 15 grams per 10 minutes. The present disclosure also provides a method of printing an adhesive. The method includes a) melting a core-sheath filament in a nozzle to form a molten composition, and b) dispensing the molten composition through the nozzle onto a substrate. Steps a) and b) are carried out one or more times to form a printed adhesive. The core-sheath filament includes an adhesive core and a non-tacky sheath. Further, methods are provided, including receiving, by a manufacturing device having one or more processors, a digital object comprising data specifying an article; and generating, with the manufacturing device by an additive manufacturing process using a core-sheath filament, the article including a printed adhesive based on the digital object. A system is also provided, including a display that displays a 3D model of an article; and one or more processors that, in response to the 3D model selected by a user, cause a 3D printer to create a physical object of an article including a printed adhesive, using a core-sheath filament.

摘要: A core-sheath filament including a crosslinkable adhesive core that can be cured using ultraviolet or visible light radiation. These crosslinkable adhesive core compositions can provide very high bond strength and are capable of replacing traditional mechanical fasteners in many industrial applications. Core-sheath filaments including such crosslinkable compositions, crosslinked compositions, articles containing these compositions, and methods of making the articles are provided. The crosslinkable compositions contain pendant aromatic ketone groups or pendant (meth)acryloyl groups that, upon exposure to ultraviolet radiation, result in the formation of crosslinks within the polymeric material. The crosslinked compositions can function as pressure-sensitive adhesives.

摘要: The disclosed film backing has a multilayer extensible substrate with a securing adhesive that can secure to a surface and a tab to stretch the extensible substrate to remove the securing adhesive from the underlying surface. Stretching the extensible substrate will easily release the adhesive from the underlying surface. Therefore, a strong adhesive can be used. The multilayer extensible substrate includes an elastic layer forming the core adjacent to a plastically-deforming layers forming the skin to minimize the elasticity of the overall construction.

摘要: A method of making an adhesive article is described comprising melt extruding a core film layer comprising a composition comprising at least 50% of a polylactic acid polymer. The method further comprises melt extruding an adhesive layer on a major surface of the core film layer such that regions of interdiffusion are present between the core film layer and adhesive layer. The adhesive layer may comprise C1-C10 (meth)acrylic acid or ester thereof, vinyl acetate, ethylene vinyl acetate, hydrolysed polyvinyl alcohol and combinations thereof. The adhesive layer may also be a pressure sensitive adhesive. The method further comprises melt extruding a release film layer on an opposing major surface of the core film layer. The layers are sequentially extruded or co-extruded and can be uniaxially or biaxially oriented. Articles comprising a core film layer comprising a composition comprising at least 50% of a polylactic acid polymer and an adhesive layer disposed on a major surface of the core layer are also described.
