Abstract: An article has first and second substrates with a spacer between them. The spacer includes beams connecting a plurality of walls, with openings between the beams. The plurality of walls includes multiple first, second, and third portions. The first and second portions are not parallel and have top and bottom edges that define a height of the wall and contact the first and second substrates, respectively. The third portions have top edges continuous with the top edges of the first and second portions but a smaller height than the height of the wall. At a given plane intersecting a first or second portion and perpendicular to the top and bottom edges, the thickness of at the top edge is plus or minus ten percent of the thickness at the bottom edge. The third portions are connected with some of the beams connecting the walls.

Abstract: A composite film comprises first and second layers. The first layer comprises a first copolymer of monomers comprising tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene, and vinylidene fluoride, wherein the first copolymer contains at least 35 mole percent of vinylidene fluoride monomer units. The second layer is disposed on the first layer, and comprises a second copolymer comprising 50 to 83 weight percent of ethylene monomer units and at least 17 weight percent of alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer units represented by the formula (I) wherein R1 is H or methyl, and each R2 is independently an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms. Methods of making the composite film and articles including it are also disclosed.

Abstract: The disclosed film backing has a multilayer extensible substrate with a securing adhesive that can secure to a surface and a tab to stretch the extensible substrate to remove the securing adhesive from the underlying surface. Stretching the extensible substrate will easily release the adhesive from the underlying surface. Therefore, a strong adhesive can be used. The multilayer extensible substrate includes an elastic layer forming the core adjacent to a plastically-deforming layers forming the skin to minimize the elasticity of the overall construction.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to cohesive compositions, articles including a cohesive composition, and methods of making such compositions and articles. In some embodiments, the cohesive compositions include rubber, thermoplastic elastomer, filler, and UV or heat stabilizers. In some embodiments, the cohesive articles include the cohesive composition described herein adjacent to a backing. In some embodiments, the cohesive articles further include at least one of a tie layer and a seal layer. Some embodiments of the present disclosure further relate to packaging materials that include the cohesive articles of the present disclosure. Such packaging materials may also include, for example, a cushioning layer and an outer layer. In other embodiments, the present disclosure relates to fastening systems comprising cohesive compositions and films described herein.
