Abstract: A system allows for a user to notify an insurance provider or other third-party with a button press. The button can notify of an emergency situation. An event determiner may analyze information of events surrounding the button click. This information may include the time of day, location, identifying information for the insured, recent locations of the button, information from similar button presses and information from previous insurance claims. Based on this information, the event determiner may provide a high percentage estimate of an abnormal condition: home break-in, car accident, flat tire, etc. The system may automatically take action, depending on the event, such as contacting the police, sending a tow truck, or starting an insurance claim.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for acquiring and analyzing vehicle operation data in conjunction with traffic light information to manage traffic and avoid collisions. A traffic management system determines whether a vehicle is likely to be involved in a collision, based on at least vehicle operation data and the status of traffic lights. If it is determined that a vehicle is likely to be involved in a collision, the traffic management system may issue a notification or warning to the vehicle, e.g., instructing the vehicle to increase or decrease its rate of acceleration, and/or apply its brakes. Where the vehicle does not respond to the notification or warning, the traffic management system may take control of the vehicle, and notify and warn other vehicles and/or systems of its actions. Where the vehicle responds to the notification or warning, the traffic management system may calculate and recommend an insurance benefit.

Abstract: Systems and methods for the automatic exchange of insurance information in response to a collision event are provided. A wireless communication device may collect telematics data related to operation of a vehicle. The wireless communication device may detect the occurrence of a collision event involving the vehicle based on the telematics data collected. The wireless communication device may discover another wireless communication device locating in the vicinity of the collision event that has also detected a collision event. The wireless device may initiate an exchange of insurance information with that other wireless communication device. Other types of information may be exchanged between the wireless devices as well as between an insurance system in signal communication with the wireless devices in response to a collision event.

Abstract: A driving accident simulation, having a head-wearable user interface (e.g., a head-worn virtual-reality display), may be used to inform a driver of the driver's potential liability under different insurance options. The simulation may determine damages caused by the simulated accident, and identify multiple insurance options and the resulting user liability under each option. The simulation may also be used to assess an insurance adjuster's ability to estimate damages from an accident, by receiving the adjuster's estimate and comparing it to the simulation's own estimate of damages. In some embodiments, the simulation may present a driver with a simulated view from a point of view of another party to the simulated accident.
