Abstract: A method of joining the abutting ends of tubes together in a manner that provides a weld having good pulling, bending and thickness reduction capabilities. The method comprising the steps of providing the tube ends with complementary angle cuts, the angle of each cut being less than 90* with respect to the axes of the tubing; placing and maintaining the cut ends of the tubes in mating, abutting relationship, the abutting ends providing an interface therebetween that is disposed at the same angle, with respect to the tubes axes, as that of the angle cuts; disposing said interface adjacent a welding head; and welding the tubes together along the mating, abutting ends.
