The power supply is configured to modify control of an output of the power supply based on the detected temperature.

摘要: A portable advanced process module system includes, for example, a welding power source, an portable advanced process module, and a wire feeder. The portable advanced process module and the wire feeder are separately enclosed in suitcase style enclosures with disconnectable power and communication means between the portable advanced process module and the wire feeder. The processing unit includes power electronics to enable advanced weld processes that can be delivered to the wire feeder and a welding work piece. The portable advanced process module is powered by a DC bus that can be supplied by a welding power source. Connecting the portable advanced process module between the welding power source and the wire feeder enables advanced welding processes to be accomplished at great distances from the main welding power source. Separating the power electronics into the portable advanced process module and maintaining a standard suitcase wire feeder form factor keeps the welding equipment used in the working area envelope small, light, and portable.

摘要: Apparatuses and methods for detecting multilayer multipass welding trajectory are disclosed. The apparatus includes an imaging component, a first and a second directional light source group, a structured light source and a control and processing component. The imaging component is disposed in front of a welding gun and above a weld pass. The first and the second directional light source group are disposed symmetrically above the weld pass and at two sides of the weld pass. The structured light source is disposed above the weld pass. The control and processing component is configured to control the imaging component to capture an image of the workpiece surface separately when the first directional light source group, the second directional light source group or the structured light source emits the light to the workpiece surface and to obtain a multilayer multipass welding trajectory according to the images.

摘要: A method for welding two or more conduits includes aligning end portions thereof in an abutting relationship to define a gap. The method includes performing a spatter free root weld along the gap to configure a root layer while the inner circumferential surface side is unobstructed. After the root weld is complete, an outward thrust is applied along the inner circumferential surfaces of the conduits. During the application of the outward thrust, a filler weld is performed along the gap to fill the gap and to facilitate shrinkage of the filler and root weld materials longitudinally and radially outward while preventing pressing out of the filler and root weld materials radially inward of the inner circumferential surface.

摘要: A joint unit includes a first metal pipe, a second metal pipe, and a joint portion (a region including a joint interface at which the end faces of the first and second metal pipes are joined to each other. At the joint portion, an outer circumferential bead portion protruding toward the outer circumference side and an inner circumferential bead portion protruding toward the inner circumference side are formed. The difference between the width of the outer circumferential bead portion (the width L1 of a grinding portion and the width L2 of the inner circumferential bead portion in a direction from the first metal pipe toward the second metal pipe is equal to or smaller than 40% with respect to the average value of the width L1 of the outer circumferential bead portion and the width L2 of the inner circumferential bead portion.

摘要: Methods for welding a particle-matrix composite body to another body and repairing particle-matrix composite bodies are disclosed. Additionally, earth-boring tools having a joint that includes an overlapping root portion and a weld groove having a face portion with a first bevel portion and a second bevel portion are disclosed. In some embodiments, a particle-matrix bit body of an earth-boring tool may be repaired by removing a damaged portion, heating the particle-matrix composite bit body, and forming a built-up metallic structure thereon. In other embodiments, a particle-matrix composite body may be welded to a metallic body by forming a joint, heating the particle-matrix composite body, melting a metallic filler material forming a weld bead and cooling the welded particle-matrix composite body, metallic filler material and metallic body at a controlled rate.

摘要: A heavy weight drill pipe may include a tube body formed of AISI 1340 alloy steel, and first and second tool joints at respective ends of the tube body, and which are formed of an AISI 41XX series alloy steel. The first and second tool joints may be welded to the tube body at a weld line within a weld region. A Charpy impact toughness at the weld line or surrounding weld region may be least 12 ft-lbs. (16.5 N-m). Yield and tensile strengths at the weld line or weld region may be at least 65 ksi (448.0 MPa) and at least 106 ksi (731.0 MPa), respectively. Material properties at the weld line or weld region may be achieved by heat treating after welding. Heat treating may include austenitizing, quenching, and tempering the weld line and/or the surrounding weld region.

摘要: A method and a system for forming a root pass weld for a root pipe joint. A substantially periodic electric welding waveform is generated and a series of electric arc pulses are generated between an advancing welding electrode and a root pipe joint in response to the electric welding waveform. The electric welding waveform includes a base cycle having a background current phase providing a background current level, a peak current phase providing a peak current level, a tail-out current phase providing a decreasing tail-out current level, and at least one heat-increasing current pulse during the background current phase providing a heat-increasing current level being above the background current level.
