Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may be configured to reattempt to establish a multiple access (MA) protocol data unit (PDU) session when the UE moves to a new registration area. The UE transmits a request for a MA PDU session to the network, receives a message from the network indicating the request has been rejected, wherein the message further includes a status indication for reattempt requests to establish the MA PDU session, determines, when the UE moves into a new registration area of a PLMN, whether reattempt requests are allowed based on, at least, the status indication and transmits, when reattempt requests are allowed, a further request to establish the MA PDU session.

Abstract: A cellular network includes a first network component configured to i) identify a first session between a first data network and a user equipment (UE), wherein the first session corresponds to a first session management function (SMF), ii) receive data network access information (DNAI) from a network function, the DNAI corresponding to a second data network and iii) select a second SMF that is to be utilized for a second session between the second data network and the UE. The cellular network also includes a second network component configured to i) store a mapping between the DNAI and the second SMF and ii) transmit an indication of the second SMF to the first network component, wherein the first network component selects the second SMF based on the indication.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to establish network connections for long-term evolution (LTE) and new radio (NR) radio access technologies (RATS) in non-standalone (NSA) E-UTRA-NR dual connectivity (ENDC) operation. The UE includes a multi-antenna array for data and signaling transmissions and receptions over the LTE and NR connections. The UE determines a most efficient antenna of the multi-antenna array for an operating frequency band of the LTE and NR connections, wherein the most efficient antenna is determined based on at least one performance factor for the UE when using the antenna compared to other antennas of the multi-antenna array, evaluates one or more factors for determining whether the LTE RAT or the NR RAT is to use the most efficient antenna and transmits uplink data on the most efficient antenna via either the LTE RAT or the NR RAT based on the evaluated factors.

Abstract: An approach to provide dynamic adjustment in order to meet the limitation of data rate per network slice in the uplink and downlink wireless connections in a wireless network. The approach uses a network slice quota (NSQ) management function, which keeps track of aggregated maximum bit rates (AMBR) for a slice. Upon reaching a limit, the NSQ functionality dynamically adjusts the user equipment (UE) data rates, reduces the quality of service (QoS), and/or rejects any protocol data unit (PDU) request. Several techniques are described that meet these objectives. In one technique, when the limit is reached, the session AMBR per subscription level is adjusted in proportionate ratio of the maximum bit rate per subscription level per UE. In another technique, when the limit is reached, there is a proportionate equivalent increment and decrement of session AMBR based on usage patterns of the subscription levels. In a further technique, when the limit is reached, there is a proportionate equivalent increment and decrement of slice resources based on usage patterns. In yet another technique, a quota update is attempted using the Unified Data Repository (UDR).

Abstract: A device, system, and method estimate a link budget on a companion device. The method is performed at a first device connecting to a second device over a first connection and a network over a second connection, the second device connecting to the network over a third connection. The method includes receiving initiating data from the second device based on radio conditions associated with the third connection. The method includes, when the first device disconnects from the second device and establishes the second connection, determining an initial network metric value based on the initiating data that is used to estimate radio conditions associated with the second connection. The method includes selecting a data exchange mode of the first device based on the initial network metric value which is used until a further network metric is determined by the first device.

Abstract: A device and method for transmitting user equipment capability information to a network. In a first mechanism, the device and method transmits carrier aggregation (CA) combinations supported by the user equipment in a priority order to the network. The priority order may be determined based on most recent camped bands and the neighbor bands of the most recent camped bands. In a second mechanism, the device and method transmits indicators corresponding to types of gapless measurements, where when an indicator is set to the user equipment being incapable of performing the type of gapless measurement, the capability message does not include individual indications for the bands for that type of measurement.

The AT command indicates a value of a parameter related to MUSIM operation of the device, such as whether to release a Non-Access Stratum (NAS) connection associated with a particular USIM of the device, whether to reject or restrict paging associated with the particular USIM of the device, or a requested (or selected) IMSI offset associated with the particular USIM of the device. The AT command is communicated from the TE to a mobile terminal (MT) of the device through a terminal adapter (TA).
