    Abstract: An apparatus to be used in a UE in a mobile communication network to communicate with a base station, includes a memory configured to store a RRC message, and processing circuitry configured to decode the RRC message to obtain BWP configuration information and mapping information, identify one or more UL BWPs and one or more DL BWPs within a carrier bandwidth per Serving Cell based on the BWP configuration information, identify one or more SR configurations which a LCH is mapped to for the UL BWPs based on the mapping information, the LCH being mapped to none or one SR configuration for each of the UL BWPs, identify activation of a UL BWP of the UL BWPs, and encode an SR on a PUCCH based on a SR configuration for the UL BWP.

    Abstract: Techniques for unifying split bearers at user equipment (UE) in an Evolved-Universal Terrestrial Radio Access-New Radio (E-ULTRA NR) dual connectivity (EN-DC) environment are described. According to various such techniques, a radio resource control (RRC) message can include an encapsulated configuration for a secondary cell group (SCG). Packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) configurations for MN or SN split bearers can be included in the master cell group (MCG) configuration in the RRC message or in the encapsulated SCG configuration. In some examples, an RRC message can include an encapsulated SCG configuration and an encapsulated PDCP configuration, where the encapsulated PDCP configuration including PDCP configuration information for the MN or SN split bearer. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

    Abstract: An apparatus of a next generation Node B (gNB) Distributed Unit (DU) comprises one or more baseband processors to transmit one or more retransmitted Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Protocol Data Units (PDUs) received from a gNB Central Unit (CU) to a user equipment (UE), and to feed back not only a latest, in-sequence New Radio User-plane (NR-U) Sequence Number (SN) to the CU for Release 15, but also a highest, in-sequence successfully delivered/transmitted PDCP SN, optionally, with a NR-U SN up to which the reported PDCP SN should be applied, which can provide an exact range of successfully delivered/transmitted status for retransmitted packets even in case of DU's re-ordering based on PDCP SN before transmitting to the UE. The apparatus can include a memory to store the reported PDCP SN and NR-U SN.

    Managing Control Plane Latency for Integrated Access and Backhaul

    Abstract: Systems and methods of reducing control plane latency in a 5G IAB network are described. SRs transmitted between nodes indicate that a control plane PDU is to be transmitted. The SRs use periodic resources or OCCs reserved for control plane signaling and are initiated by an RRC message or RACH from the UE. The SRs are initiated if the LCD field in the MAC sub header of the RRC message indicates the CCCH or the DCCH logical channel. If the PDU is available after the original resource, a resource is used that is provided via another grant, which is periodically provided or automatically initiated due to failure to transmit on the original grant. The SR or RRC message can also specify a delayed timeslot for the grant. For contention-based procedures the RACH preamble is randomly selected or selected from among a set of RACH preambles assigned for RRC procedures.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of providing uplink in-order packet delivery of a QoS flow offloaded in a 5G network are described. An uplink forwarding tunnel is established between a source and target node after a determination is made to offload a QoS flow of a UE to the target node. The source node receives a SDAP PDU from the UE that contains an end marker and, in response, sends a GTP-U end marker packet to the target node via the uplink forwarding tunnel. The target node buffer packets associated with the QoS flow received from the UE after establishment of the uplink forwarding tunnel until the GTP-U end marker packet is received from the target node via the uplink forwarding tunnel and, in response, sends the buffered packets to the 5GC.

    Abstract: Techniques to configure a user equipment (UE) for a multi-connectivity handover with a source base station (SBS) and a target base station (TBS) include encoding a measurement report for transmission to the SBS. The measurement report is triggered based on a measurement event configured by the SBS. Radio resource control (RRC) signaling from the SBS is decoded, the RRC signaling including a handover command in response to the measurement report. The handover command includes an indication for multi-connectivity support by the SBS and the TBS during the handover. A first protocol stack associated with the SBS and a second protocol stack associated with the TBS are configured at the UE. A packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) protocol data unit (PDU) received at the UE during the handover is processed using the first protocol stack or the second protocol stack.
