Abstract: A pointer needle for an indication device of a motor vehicle has a transparent optical waveguide that receives light propagating along a direction of propagation at a light-entry side, and emits the light in an emission direction at a light-exit side. The optical waveguide has a scattering side opposite to the light-exit side, the scattering side having steps arranged offset to one another across the propagation direction. When the steps are irradiated by light, the pointer needle provided in the indication device can clearly be perceived in the dark.

Abstract: The present application relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle in an activated at least semi-autonomous driving mode, with the motor vehicle comprising a control unit which controls the motor vehicle in the at least one activated semi-autonomous driving mode. A detection device arranged in the motor vehicle detects at least one motor vehicle occupant (step S1). An authorization device linked to the detection device checks whether at least one of the at least one detected motor vehicle occupants meets at least one authorization criterion (step S2). If this is the case, the authorization device generates an enable signal (step S3a) and sends it to the control unit, which then activates the at least semi-autonomous drive mode (step S4). If the at least one authorization criterion is not met, the authorization device sends out an inquiry signal to an authorization device external to the vehicle (step S3b) and, depending on the external release signal received in response to the inquiry signal, forwards the enable signal to the control unit.

After a first operating action is carried out, a search function is activated in which at least a subset of the shown road users is individually marked on the display device in a sequence containing all road users. When a second operating action is carried out, or after a predetermined first period of time, the currently-marked road user is selected as the evaluation object for the function.

The display device is lockable at different length values of the use distance, and therefore a plurality of different use positions results, and the computing device is designed to adjust the depiction of the objects depending on the current length value of the use distance.

Abstract: A determination is made as to whether a driver or a front-seat passenger of the motor vehicle would like to operate a display device. If it is detected that only the driver would like to operate the display device, the display device is put in a first operating mode in which a graphic user interface is displayed exclusively in a driver-side display region of the display device. If it is detected that only the front-seat passenger of the motor vehicle would like to operate the display device, the display device is put in a second operating mode in which the graphic user interface is displayed exclusively in a front-seat-passenger-side display region of the display device. Abstract: A method for reducing reflection when operating a head-up display of a motor vehicle. The head-up display includes a covering disk element and a dimming element for dimming a deflected light beam of ambient light. A control device determines a light beam path of the deflected light beam, determines a current position and orientation of the dimming element, and determines a region to be kept free of the deflected light beam around the eye point of a user. Based on this, the control device determines whether the deflected light beam passes through the area to be kept free. If so, the control device generates a control signal for adjusting a position of the dimming element to dim the deflected light beam with an adjustment device, and the adjustment device adjusts the position of the dimming element depending on the control signal.
