摘要: The variable valve timing controller controls the valve timing of the intake valve. The variable valve timing controller has a shaft, the stator fixed on the engine and generating the magnetic field around the shaft and rotational phase converter converting the torque applied to the shaft. When the valve timing is in the most delayed timing, the engine can be started. The rotational phase of this timing is called the feasible phase. When the stator stops generating the magnetic field, the load torque arise on the shaft. The rotational phase converter varies the rotational phase into the feasible phase with receiving the load torque from the shaft.

摘要: In the case where an intake valve has its phase in a first region between a most retarded angle and CA(1), the rotational speed of relative rotation between an output shaft of an electric motor and a sprocket is reduced at a reduction gear ratio R(1) to change the phase of the intake valve. In the case where the intake valve has its phase in a second region between CA(2) and a most advanced angle, the rotational speed of relative rotation is reduced at a reduction gear ratio R(2) to change the phase of the intake valve. As long as the rotational direction of relative rotation is the same, the phase of the intake valve is changed in the same direction for both of the first region between the most retarded angle and CA(1) and the second region between CA(2) and the most advanced angle.

摘要: The variable valve timing controller controls the valve timing of the intake valve. The variable valve timing controller has a phase adjusting mechanism which includes a first rotating member, a second rotating member, a first arm, and a second arm. The first rotating member rotates in synchronism with a driving shaft and the second rotating member rotates in synchronism with a driven shaft. The first arm is pivoted on the first rotating member and the second arm is pivoted on the second rotating member and the first arm. The phase adjusting mechanism varies the rotational phase of the driven shaft relative to the driving shaft with converting the a movement of the first arm and the second arm into the rotational movement of the first rotating member and the second rotating member.

摘要: A valve timing controller includes a guide rotation member provided with a guide groove, a bearing rotation member radially supporting the guide rotation member, and a plurality of movable bodies sliding in the guide groove in accordance with a rotation of the guide rotation member. A plurality of link mechanisms connects the bearing rotation member with each one of movable bodies respectively, and rotates the bearing rotation member in accordance with a movement of the movable bodies. The valve timing of at least one of the intake valve and the exhaust valve is adjusted in accordance with a rotation of the bearing rotation body. A clearance gap is provided between the guide rotation member and the bearing rotation member in order to permit a relative radial movement of the guide rotation member with respect to the bearing rotation member.

The guide passage includes a variable radial dimension relative to a rotational centerline. The guide rotary body rotates relative to a driving rotary body and guides the movable body in the guide passage. A phase change mechanism changes the rotational phase of a driven shaft relative to a drive shaft according to the position of the movable body in the guide passage. The guide passage has a gradually decreasing region and a gradually increasing region. The gradually decreasing region slants toward an axis of the guide rotary body. The gradually increasing region slants relative toward the axis of the guide rotary body. The gradually decreasing region and the gradually increasing region are connected.

摘要: A valve timing adjusting device adjusts valve timing by shifting rotational phase of a camshaft relative to a crankshaft. The device has an electric motor for rotating a rotor member that drives and moves a phase defining member to a required position. The phase defining member defines the rotational phase of the camshaft in accordance with the position itself. The phase defining member may be a planetary gear rotatably supported on an eccentric shaft as the rotor member. The planetary gear works as both a reduction mechanism and a phase shifting mechanism. The phase defining member may be a control pin slidably supported on a rotatable member as the rotor member. A planetary gear may be additionally used as the reduction mechanism for rotating the rotatable member. It is possible to control the phase with high accuracy and durability.

摘要: A valve timing adjusting device sets an amount of phase shift of a driven shaft with respect to a drive shaft. A first hole in a first rotor forms a first track extending in order to vary its radial distance from a rotation center line. The first hole makes contact with a control member passing through the first track, on the two sides of the first hole toward which the first hole (the first rotor) rotates. A second hole in a second rotor forms a second track that extends. The second hole makes contact with the control member that passes through the second track. The first track and the second track slant toward each other in the rotation direction of the first and second rotor.
