摘要： A liquid-discharge recording apparatus such as an ink-jet printer comprises: a liquid-discharge recording unit having an emission energy generating device including an electrothermal energy converting device which can heat a recording liquid such as an ink to form liquid droplets in response to an electrical signal, in which this recording unit emits the liquid droplets and deposits them on a recording paper and thereby recording thereon; a recording unit control circuit which can set and supplies the electrical signal to form the liquid droplets to the emission energy generating device in response to a recording signal; and an emission controller for setting the electrical signal to form the liquid droplets to the recording unit control circuit when a power supply is turned on, thereby allowing the recording unit to emit the liquid droplets in accordance with an environmental condition such as a temperature of the recording liquid. With this dedicated emission controller, the proper emission condition is set and the preheating processes and preliminary emitting processes are executed prior to starting the printing after the turn-on of the power supply of the printer, so that the printing state can be promptly and easily optimized by a simple software.

A bag in the second liquid chamber forms a flexible space filled with air for absorbing each pressure fluctuation created in the first liquid chamber by actuation of the energy generating device and for preventing such fluctuation from propagating to the ink feeding pipe.

摘要： Three discharge port groups, each having a plurality of discharge ports, discharge inks of three primary colors to record swaths of the respective colors on a recording medium and repeat the discharging to complete a record. Joints of each of Y, M and C color swaths are spaced from joints of swaths of the other two colors by an equal distance, and the discharge port groups are offset from each other by 8n times of a discharge port pitch in a direction of feed of the recording medium. In a number of image buffers corresponding to the discharge ports, image data in one buffer is separated from image data in a different image buffer by an amount that is an integer multiply of one 8 bit byte.

摘要： A recording head has a subtank. The amount of ink remaining within the subtank is detected or calculated by a device, and the amount of ink necessary for an image of at least one recording sheet is calculated by another device. The two amounts of ink are compared. If it is determined that the ink remaining within the subtank is smaller, the recording head is moved to an ink replenishing mechanism provided outside of a printing range of a recording apparatus. The subtank mounted in the recording head is connected to the ink replenishing mechanism, and ink is supplied from the main tank. Ink replenishment is executed by a system for supplying ink using a pressurizing device or a negative-pressure device. By executing an operation of wiping ink adhering to a nozzle portion of the recording head and preliminary discharge not relating to printing after a recovery operation for the recording head, it is possible to realize stable ink discharge and obtain a high-quality image.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus comprises a carriage movable in a given direction with a recording head which is detachably mountable on it and provided with discharge ports for discharging liquid. The apparatus is arranged to include a sensor for detecting the presence or absence of the carriage, the recording head, and at least one of the ink containers. This sensor is provided for the main body of the apparatus and positioned within the movable range of the carriage. With this arrangement, it is possible to simplify the structure required for detecting whether or not these vital elements for recording are installed without any auxiliary power-supply or memory means.
