The first and second conduits are connected to one another at a service joint. An aftertreatment device is mounted within the first and second conduits. The aftertreatment device has a length. The aftertreatment device is positioned within the first and second conduits such that the service joint surrounds the aftertreatment device at an intermediate location along the length of the aftertreatment device.
