摘要: A system and method of sanitizing a package left at a doorstep safely reduces exposure to pathogens with packages. The method includes a computerized doorbell, at least one motion detector, at least one ultraviolet device, and a user (PC) personal computing device. The method begins by scanning a surrounding area of the doorway with the motion detector in order to identify at least one physical package. A delivery notification for the physical package is relayed from the motion detector, through the computerized doorbell, and to the user PC device. The delivery notification is displayed for the physical package with the motion detector. The surrounding area is further scanned with the motion detector in order to identify a human presence within the surrounding area. Ultraviolet radiation is emitted onto the surrounding area for a specified time period with the ultraviolet device, if the physical package is identified within the surrounding area.

摘要: A wearable sanitization device can be conveniently carried on one's body, especially the wrist. The preferred form of the apparatus involves a rubber or flexible plastic holster in the shape of a watch. A band connected to the holster may be adjusted to fit the shape and size of a user's wrist. A sanitizer-storing receptacle is mounted within the holster, thereby reducing the likelihood of misplacing sanitizer. A dispenser extending from the receptacle is oriented towards the hand of the user, ensuring the contents of the receptacle are dispensed appropriately upon the user's palm and fingers.
An exposed actuator, usually a button, on the receptacle may be depressed or actuated to enable easy, single-digit dispensing of the sanitizer. This also enables the apparatus to disperse hand sanitizer without having to be removed, thereby further preventing the apparatus from being misplaced and rendering two-hand handling of a sanitizer bottle obsolete.

摘要: Described herein are methods, devices, and compositions for fractionation and processing of microparticles from biological samples, and to methods for obtaining and using the microparticles for biomarker discovery. Biological samples include cell-free fluids, for example blood plasma, blood serum, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, and saliva, as well as conditioned media. Conditioned media is the liquid growth media used to propagate cells in vitro. Purification of microparticles from cell-free fluids is challenging, typically accomplished by prolonged ultracentrifugation. Described herein is an alternative method for efficiently harvesting and processing microparticles from cell-free fluids and from conditioned media. Embodiments described herein relate to use of the microparticles and their contents recovered from conditioned media derived from propagation of human and animal cells, as a source of biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of diseases and pathological conditions.
