Abstract:
A system and method for indicating settings of an image capture device. One embodiment comprises receiving light information from a photosensor; generating a histogram and at least one setting value based upon the received light information; and displaying the histogram and the setting value on a display residing on the image capture device.
Abstract:
Multiple uncompressed digital images, each at a different exposure, may be captured automatically in response to an image capture request. The set of uncompressed digital images may be stored as a single data object and manipulated to produce a final digital image.
Abstract:
When a digital imaging system, such as a digital camera or scanner system, performs an image adjustment that affects pixels in a digital photograph, the system stores the original pixel data in a header, tag, or similar informational portion in the resulting digital image file, The original pixel data can be retrieved at a later time and replaced in the digital photograph as a way to “undo” the image adjustment. The digital imaging system may optionally be a digital camera. The digital imaging system may optionally be a scanner system. The pixel data retrieval may be performed by the digital imaging system or by another device, such as a computer.
Abstract:
A method of dynamically prioritizing menu items embedded in an electronic device, such as a digital camera, comprising the steps of selecting a menu item from an ordered list of menu items, recording the selected menu item in a record file stored in the electronic device, analyzing the record file to determine the frequency of use for each menu item, and dynamically prioritizing the ordered list by a firmware embedded in the electronic device based on the user's frequency of use to provide a prioritized ordered list, such that frequently used menu item is ranked higher in the prioritized ordered list.
Abstract:
A user interface for red-eye removal allows a user selectively to accept or reject red-eye removal in candidate red-eye regions that are automatically detected in a digital image and presented to the user. A modified digital image may be produced and saved in which red-eye removal is performed in the candidate red-eye regions the user accepts.

Abstract:
An embodiment of a method for editing image information with a digital camera comprises identifying image information, generating a representation of the image information, magnifying the representation using a discrete magnification step proximal to a midpoint of the digital camera's range for digitally magnifying the image information to produce a modified representation of the image information, presenting the modified representation of the image information, controllably magnifying the modified representation responsive to a magnification control associated with the digital camera, and controllably panning across the modified representation such that preferred subject matter is observable in a desired representation.
Abstract:
A digital imaging device automatically detects that a subject is too close to the device for acceptable focus to be achieved and informs the user, takes automatic corrective action, or both.
Abstract:
A system and method comprising a user device having a customizable share system that is external device driven, and which is configured by way of communication between the user device and the external device. The customizable share system allows a user to be aware of the capabilities of an external device that is connected to the user device. This is implemented using a user interface on the user's device, such as a camera or device display, for example.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system and method for shielding a display. Briefly described, one embodiment comprises a display shield coupled to a display enclosure wherein a display resides, so that the display shield may be selectively oriented in at least a first position covering the display, a second position shading the display and a third position retracted from the display.
