    Abstract: A membrane carburetor (1) has a control chamber (13) which is connected via at least one fuel opening (9, 10) to an intake channel (3). The control chamber (13) is delimited by a control membrane (14). A fuel line (54) opens into the control chamber (13) via an inlet valve (15). The inlet valve (15) opens in dependence upon the deflection of the control membrane (14). The membrane carburetor (1) has an acceleration pump (30) which is actuated in dependence upon the position of a throttle element held in the intake channel (3). A good acceleration enrichment and a stable running of the internal combustion engine are achieved when the acceleration pump (30) operates hydraulically on at least one actuating member in the control chamber (13).

    Abstract: A carburetor arrangement for a manually-guided implement operated by an internal combustion engine. A carburetor supplies a fuel/air mixture to the engine, with a butterfly valve being disposed in the intake duct of the carburetor and with a choke valve being disposed upstream of the butterfly valve. A start lever is provided for actuating the carburetor in a start phase, and acts upon the choke valve. The start lever can be shifted in a direction of actuation and in an unlocking direction that is independent of the direction of actuation. The start lever can be locked in a rest position relative to the direction of actuation, and after being shifted out of the rest position in the unlocking direction is shiftable in the direction of actuation.

    Abstract: An intake arrangement (1) for a two-stroke engine includes an intake channel (2) in which a throttle flap (3) is pivotally journalled with a throttle shaft (4). Downstream of the throttle flap (3), a partition wall (8) is mounted on the intake channel (2) and this partition wall partitions the intake channel (2) into an air channel (6) and a mixture channel (7). In the idle position (5) of the throttle flap (3), at least one fuel opening (14) opens into the mixture channel (7) downstream of the throttle flap (3). A connecting opening (16) between the air channel (6) and the mixture channel (7) is provided between the partition wall (8) and the throttle shaft (4) in the idle position (5) of the throttle flap (3). A shield (20, 30) is mounted in the mixture channel (7) between the fuel opening (14) and the connecting opening (16) in order to achieve a good swing performance of the two-stroke engine. The shield reduces the passing of fuel into the air channel and therefore the degree of wetting of the air channel with fuel.

    Abstract: A two-stroke engine includes an air channel for supplying substantially fuel-free combustion air and a mixture channel for supplying an air/fuel mixture. The air channel and the mixture channel connect the cylinder of the two-stroke engine to an air filter. A section of the mixture channel and a section of the air channel are guided in a common component. In order to prevent induction of mixture into the air channel, the length (a) of the mixture channel and the length (b) of the air channel are so matched to each other that the pressure wave in the air channel, which forms during operation, oscillates in phase with the pressure wave formed in the mixture channel. The length (a) of the mixture channel is matched to an optimal fuel induction via the fuel opening. A method for tuning the two-stroke engine provides that the length (a) of the mixture channel is matched to an optimal fuel discharge from the fuel opening in a first step and, in a second step, the length (b) of the air channel is so matched to the length (a) of the mixture channel that the pressure wave in the air channel and the pressure wave in the mixture channel oscillate in phase during operation of the two-stroke engine.
