    摘要: A novel and improved engine data system for collecting, displaying and analyzing engine/vehicle data is provided. The system have advantageously results in a more effective, convenient, portable and low cost method of monitoring and processing vehicle data. The vehicle data system includes a handheld computer containing operating system software adapted to operate the handheld computer in accordance with a data protocol different from a vehicle bus protocol and a handheld microprocessor for executing the operating system software. The system importantly includes an adapter for creating a data pathway between a vehicle bus connector and an external data port provided on the handheld computer which is physically incompatible with the engine bus connector. The adapter includes a data port connector for connection with the external data port, a bus compatible connector for connection with the engine bus connector, a battery power supply separate from the power supply of the handheld compuer and an adapter microprocessor powered by the battery power supply and connected via the data pathway with the bus compatible connector for protocol conversion of the data received from the engine bus. An engine data adapter system for creating a data pathway between the engine data bus and the handheld computer while determining the start and stop of messages received from the data bus and adding message identifiers to the engine data so as to minimize the required data processing by the handheld computer.

    摘要: An adapter is disclosed for allowing communications between a vehicle control computer coupled to one or more vehicle communications networks and a remote computer. The one or more vehicle communications networks may be configured for data communications in accordance with, for example, an SAE J1939 or an SAE J1587 communications protocol, or the like. The adapter includes a first interface for operatively coupling to the one or more communications networks and a second interface including a universal serial bus (USB) controller configured for operatively coupling to the remote computer. The USB controller may be coupled to the remote computer via a device port and a host port, and/or a USB on-the-go port. In any case, the vehicle control computer and remote computer communicate through the adapter via the vehicle communications network and the first and second interfaces.

    摘要: Media and devices, such as anion exchangers including such media, wherein the media is a membrane having a surface coated with a polymer such as a polyallylamine. The resulting membrane offers stronger binding of protein impurities and superior removal of host cell proteins from biological samples than conventional ligands based on quaternary ammonium salts, including trimethylammonium ligands. Also described is a chromatography scheme and method for purifying monoclonal antibodies, wherein the anion exchange sorber is placed downstream of an affinity column (such as Protein A or Protein G affinity column) and optionally one or more polishing devices such as cationic exchange columns. Little or no dilution of the cation exchanger pool (or affinity column exchange pool where no cation exchanger is used) is necessary to lower the conductivity of the sample. The sorber functions well to strongly bind host cell proteins and other impurities in biological samples even at high conductivities and pH.

    摘要: A process is provided for rapidly and non-destructively evaluating the solute retention characteristics of porous membranes using a novel liquid-porosimetric technique. A ratio of two membrane permeabilities is measured at preselected operating conditions using a pair of mutually immiscible fluids, one of which is employed as a membrane wetting agent and the other used as an intrusion fluid. At the first operating condition, a particular transmembrane pressure is chosen so as to intrude nearly all of the pores present in the membrane sample. At the second operating condition, a particular membrane permeability is chosen so as to achieve a specified permeability ratio. The resulting transmembrane pressure corresponding to this particular membrane permeability is compared to a previously established standard curve which permits identifying the solute retention characteristics of the porous membrane.
