摘要: This invention relates to a method and an apparatus for determining a reliability indicator for at least one set of signatures obtained from clinical data collected from a group of samples. The signatures are obtained by detecting characteristics in the clinical data from the group of sample sand each of the signatures generate a first set of stratification values that stratify the group of samples. At least one additional and parallel stratification source to the signatures obtained from group of sample sis provided, the at least one additional and parallel stratification source to the signatures being independent from the signatures and generates a second set of stratification values. A comparison is done for each respective sample, where the first stratification values are compared with a true reference stratification values, and where the second stratification values are compared with the true reference stratification values. The signatures are assigned with similarity measure indicators indicating whether the first and the second stratification values match with the true reference stratification values. These are then implementing as input in determining the reliability of the signatures.

摘要: A system and method are provided for executing an executable clinical practice guideline for providing guidance in treating a patient. The system includes a guideline repository providing for storing a plurality of executable clinical practice guidelines, at least one interface providing for entry of clinical context data associated with at least one of the patient and the patient's treatment and a display. A system server, which upon receipt of said clinical context data, automatically chooses an appropriate clinical practice guideline and displays the guideline with a visual navigator on the display. The server automatically provides the guideline at its present level of abstraction, and also provides the user with a visual navigator which defines the current level of abstraction; Alternatively, upon receipt of a signal generated by a user to manually choose, via the UI, the guideline and the level of abstraction of the guideline, which are then displayed. The level of abstraction may be changed by user input in both manual and automatic mode.

摘要: A resource constrained device is disclosed which includes a tag reader, e.g., an RFID or barcode reader, a communication unit that can communicate information read from the tags to an information interface, and a controller. The controller is arranged to send the information to the information interface via the communication unit. The information interface returns a response, e.g., comprising an XML document. The response is used by the controller to adjust operational parameters which modify the performance of an operational unit, e.g., a washing machine.

摘要: A system and method for transferring images among spectrum agile radio devices without the need to retransmit image data. The system and method of the invention encodes and transmits packets so as to permit the efficient recovery of image data that is lost during transmission without the need to retransmit the packets. Instead of encoding packets containing adjacent pixels and transmitting them line-by-line, the system and method of the present invention encodes and transmits packets containing pixels from non-adjacent areas of a frame. As a result, any losses that occur within an individual packet are distributed throughout the image rather than in a specific line or isolated region of the image. This permits the efficient recovery of image data that is lost during transmission without the need to retransmit the data.
