摘要: Some embodiments can load one or more applications into working memory from persistent storage when permitted by a memory pressure level of a mobile device. Loading the applications into working memory enables the applications to be launched into the foreground quickly when the user indicates the desire to launch. Some embodiments may identify a set of applications that are designated for providing snapshots to be displayed when the mobile device is in a dock mode. Certain embodiments may determine a current memory pressure level. Some embodiments may load an application in the set of applications into working memory from a persistent storage responsive to determining that the memory pressure level is below a threshold. Certain embodiments may continue to load additional applications responsive to determining that the memory pressure level is below the threshold. After determining that the memory pressure level is above the threshold, some embodiments may reclaim memory.

摘要: Information items can be exchanged between user devices worn or carried by two different users in response to the devices detecting a “greeting event” in which the devices are in proximity and the users of the devices concurrently execute a greeting gesture. In response to detecting an event, each device can select zero or more information items or data objects to send to the other, with the selection being based on contextual information available to the device making the selection.

After a latency period, the device delivers to an application a sequence of input events that represent the touch input, including, in sequence: a first input event that represents the touch input at a first input time and is delivered at a first delivery time, a second input event that represents the touch input at a second input time and is delivered at a second delivery time, and a third input event that represents the touch input at a third input time and is delivered at a third delivery time, a time interval between the second input time and the second delivery time is smaller than a time interval between the first input time and the first delivery time, and a time interval between the third input time and the third delivery time is smaller than the time interval between the second input time and the second delivery time.

摘要: Embodiments can provide a portable computing device for pre-launching an application upon predicting that the application may be an application desired to be launched by a user. One or more application pre-launch criteria for an icon may be determined to have been satisfied when the icon is within a specified region of a display. Pre-launching the application can include loading the application into working memory while not presenting an interface associated with the application on the display of the portable computing device. When a selection of the icon is received, an interface associated with the application can be presented on the display of the portable computing device using the loaded application.
