Abstract: Implementations of the subject technology provide for sound stage reversal for enclosed environments. For example, various occupants within an enclosed environment and listening to the same spatially-oriented audio content may be facing in various different respective directions. Speakers within the enclosed environment may be operated to generate the spatially-oriented audio content for the various occupants, with various respective sound stage orientations corresponding to the various different respective directions in which the occupants face.

Abstract: Implementations of the subject technology provide directional acoustic devices such as directional speakers. A directional speaker may include a sound-generating component that projects sound from an acoustic port, and has a rear or interior surface that interfaces with a back volume of the speaker. The directional speaker may also include one or more acoustic ducts coupled to the back volume that direct a negative polarity version of the sound to one or more desired locations in an external environment of the speaker. The negative polarity version of the sound may cancel portions of the sound projected from the acoustic port, at one or more desired locations in the external environment that are determined by the arrangement of the acoustic duct(s).

The access-feature-mounted external speaker may be disposed within an internal cavity in the door, and acoustically coupled to a slot in an edge of the door by an acoustic duct. In a closed position of the door, sound from the access-feature-mounted external speaker may be projected into a gap between the door and a structural interface of an enclosure, and redirected in part by the structural interface to a location external to the enclosure. In an open position of the door, sound from the speaker may be projected into an opening in the enclosure.

Abstract: An electronic device including a frame member suitable for use with an audio driver is disclosed. The frame member may include a recessed region that receives the audio driver. The frame member may further include a flange member surrounding the recessed region. The frame member may be formed from a material having a relatively high coefficient of thermal conductivity. Accordingly, the frame member can dissipate thermal energy (heat) generated from the audio driver. In addition, the frame member may be seated in an enclosure of an electronic device in a manner that allows the frame member to pass the thermal energy to the enclosure. Also, the frame member may include a ferromagnetic material, which may cause the frame member to direct magnetic flux from a magnet of the audio driver in a desired manner.

Abstract: The described embodiments relate to an electronic assembly that includes multiple varied electrical components. In some embodiments, the electronic assembly can include electrical components susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI). In one particular embodiment, an antenna can be positioned along an exterior surface of an enclosure of the electronic assembly and another electrical component can be disposed within the enclosure. When the other electrical component is a speaker component, a port or opening for emitting audio output can be protected from EMI by surrounding the port with a conductive gasket that includes a closed cell foam substrate wrapped in an electrically conductive fabric. In some embodiments, the closed cell foam substrate defines a number of perforations that are plated with an electrically conductive material.
