A received signal comprises a sum signal of signals originating from several transmitters. The receiver comprises means for performing interference elimination and a simultaneous multi-user detection to the signal and means for searching signal parameters. In order to reduce the required computational capacity, the receiver further comprises means for removing the effect of the signals of the known users from the receives sum signal, and means for estimating the parameters of the unknown signals from a narrowband residual signal.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method and a system for digital signal transmission. In this method, a signal is encoded in order to minimize transmission errors on a transmission channel, and the encoded signal is sent through at least two base stations. A user equipment then receives the encoded signal and the coding of the received signal is decoded. The method is in accordance with the invention characterized in that the encoded signal is divided into separate signal parts having at least partly different contents. Then a specific signal part is indicated for each base station, and the base stations send their specific signal parts. In reception, the information in the received signal parts is combined.

    摘要: The invention relates to a data transmission method used in a CDMA-type radio system. A base station and terminal equipments exchange data at least in a packet switched mode, and a terminal equipment transmits to the base station on a random access channel a random access signal comprising at least a preamble (100) and a data part (102) multiplied by a spreading code. A predetermined set of spreading codes and signature sequences (104) are stored in the terminal equipment, and each signature sequence (104) determines one spreading code. The terminal equipment selects one signature sequence (104) by a random process from the set of signature sequences and adds the selected signature sequence (104) to the preamble (100) of the random access signal. Further, the terminal equipment uses the spreading code corresponding to the selected signature sequence (104) in the data part (102) of the random access signal. Interference cancellation is performed at the base station according to the signature sequence (104) of the preamble (100) of the received random access signal, such that at least the interference caused by the received data part (102) is eliminated from at least one other received signal in order to improve detection.

Data is transmitted with variable data transmission rates as a plurality of data symbols over a sequence of time slots. An estimate of the transmission rate is determined and is used in channel estimation so that the channel estimation is based on the proportion of received data symbols.

    摘要: Transmission antenna diversity can be set up on a data transmission connection between a transmitting unit, wherein there are several transmission antenna routes, and a receiving unit. A broadcast signal is transmitted through all transmission antenna routes of the transmitting unit, with the aid of these signals a choice is made in the receiving unit of the optimum transmission antenna route and a message of the choice is transmitted to the transmitting unit, which transmits user data through the transmission antenna route connected for use. The broadcast signal of each transmission antenna route can be shaped by an individual signal shaping method which is different from the others and a transmission antenna route is connected for use based on the received antenna choice message, individually for each receiving unit.
