摘要: This invention relates generally to crystalline propylene polymers, to methods for their production and to methods for their use in film applications. Specifically, this invention relates to crystalline propylene polymers comprising both propylene homopolymer and propylene copolymer. The compositions are prepared using metallocene catalyst systems comprising at least two metallocenes in a polymerization process that involves the sequential or parallel polymerization of propylene homopolymer and copolymer using propylene with a small amount of comonomer, preferably ethylene. The polymerization is catalyzed by a dual metallocene catalyst system. The resulting polymers have a broad, bimodal molecular weight distribution. The resulting polymers are excellent for use in the production of biaxially oriented films or non-oriented films. Films prepared with these propylene polymers have a significantly broader processability range and can be evenly stretched at lower temperature compared to films prepared from traditional propylene polymer.

摘要: This invention relates to improved polypropylene nonwoven fabrics. The fabrics are made from isotactic polypropylene which has been produced with a catalyst systems comprising at least two metallocenes. These nonwoven fabrics, particularly when prepared using a spunbonding process, exhibit significantly improved strength without significant sacrifice of other favorable properties.

摘要: A thermoplastic olefin comprising an alloy of an olefin copolymer elastomer and a propylene/comonomer random copolymer is provided. The comonomer is selected from one or more of ethylene and C.sub.4 to C.sub.10 alpha-olefins. Polypropylene is an optional component of the alloy. The alloy may be produced by melt blending, reactor blending or a combination thereof, of the various components.

摘要: A modifier composition is disclosed for compounding with a polyolefin to produce a resin from which cement adherent polyolefin fibers may be produced by conventional fiber forming methods. The modifier composition comprises the reaction product obtained from the high shear dry blending of an alkylamino alkoxysilane with an acid modified polyolefin, preferably .gamma.-aminopropyltriethoxysilane dry blended with maleated polypropylene. Such modifier composition when compounded in from about 1 to about 5 weight percent with a polyolefin, preferably polypropylene, provides a resin from which cement adherent fibers may be produced.

摘要: Disclosed are unsaturated .alpha.-olefin/.alpha.,.omega.-diene copolymers, and a method of preparation thereof. The copolymers are generally crystalline, free of gel and cross-links, and contain unsaturated side chains and long chain branching. The copolymers contain up to 5 mole percent diene incorporated therein, and may be prepared by copolymerization using a solid-phase, insoluble coordination catalyst, without a solvent, and below the crystalline melting point of the copolymer.
