摘要： A cleaning device for an ink jet recording head, having at least one discharge port for ejecting recording liquid, includes a cap member for facing a region of the recording head having the discharge port therein, a supply path for supplying a fluid medium to the cap member for flow along the discharge port region and a discharge path for discharging the medium from the cap member. The flow of the medium inside the cap member from the supply path to said discharge path is constricted by a protruding portion in the cap member, which protruding portion is disposed in the cap member such that the discharge port is spaced opposite the protruding portion when the discharge port region faces the cap member, and the medium flows along the discharge port region such that a negative pressure is generated for drawing recording liquid from the discharge port into the flow of the medium.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus comprises a recording head for recording on a recording medium, which recording head includes a head body member having a plurality of thermal energy generating elements to discharge liquid for recording and an orifice plate having a plurality of discharge ports for discharging liquid therethrough in response to the thermal energy generated by the generating elements. The orifice plate includes a junction portion attached to the head body member, extension portions protruding from two ends of the junction portion and positioning openings in the extension portions, which positioning openings are precisely located relative to the discharge ports. The apparatus includes positioning pins flanking a head-mounting opening in the apparatus that accepts the head body member, and the positioning pins cooperate with the positioning openings to accurately position the discharge ports in the apparatus when the head body member is inserted in the head-mounting opening.

Another liquid chamber is disposed on the other side of the substrate and is independent of the common liquid chamber. A temperature sensor detects the temperature of the recording head and recording liquid is circulated in the chamber when the temperature of the recording head exceeds a predetermined limit. A fan supplies cooling air in response to the circulation of recording liquid.

摘要： A data recording/reproduction method and apparatus uses an optical disk equipped with wobbling track guide grooves disposed in a track scanning direction and minutely wobbled. The apparatus uses a circuit for detecting and correcting displacement of an optical spot position from the wobbling track, and a system for allowing data to correspond to front and rear edges of recording pits as a recording system, and includes a circuit for independently handling reproduction pulses obtained from reproduction signals of the recording pits on the front and rear edge sides and for generating reproduction clocks. A circuit resynthesizes the two series of reproduction pulse trains by a specific pattern portion in the data. Another optical disk apparatus divides each track into zones, and switches a rate of revolution each zone to attain a substantially equal linear velocity. A servo signal reproduction clock generation circuit and a data signal recording/reproduction clock generation circuit are disposed separately. The latter changes a frequency division ratio in accordance with the zones so that a clock having a predetermined frequency can be generated even when the rate of revolution changes.
