Abstract:
A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF AROMITIC NITRILES, IN PARTICULAR OF PHITHALONITRILES, FROM SUITABLY ALKYL-SUBSTITUTED AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS BY CATALYTIC OXIDATION WITH OXYGEN OR OXYGEN-CONTAINING GASES IN THE PRESENCE OF AMMONIA AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURE IN THE VAPOR PHASE USING AN ALUMINUM OXIDE CATALYST ACTIVATED BY METAL OXIDE ADDITIVIES AND CONTAINING 2 TO 10% BY WEIGHT VANADIUM (V) OXIDE, 1 TO 10% BY WEIGHT ANTIMONY (III) OXIDE , 0.02 TO 2% BY WEIGHT ALKALI METAL OXIDE AND, IF DESIRED, 0.1 TO 4% BY WEIGHT IRON (III) OXIDE AND OR 1 TO 8% BY WEIGHT TUNGSTEN (VI) OXIDE, THE CATALYST HAVING BEEN OBTAINED BY HEATING ALUMINUM HYDROXIDES OR HYDRATED OXIDES TO TEMPERATES BETWEEN 600 AND 900*C.
Abstract:
Desublimer for the recovery of sublimed products from reaction gases, consisting of a closed housing for the passage of the reaction gas and a plurality of horizontally mounted rows of finned tubes for the passage of the heating or cooling medium, in which a perforated slider is mounted on each finned tube to allow adjacent finned tubes to bear loosely against each other, the stack of superposed sliders associated with each finned tube being loosely supported on a girder securely attached to the housing.
Abstract:
Manufacture of diesters of dicarboxylic acids from aliphatic or aromatic dicarboxylic acids or their anhydrides and alcohols of from three to 15 carbon atoms, in which substantial purification of the waste water is achieved by treating the waste water with the same alcohol as used in the ester synthesis.
