Abstract:
A structural element with a controllable heat transfer coefficient comprises a frame. A first sheet and a second sheet opposite one another are arranged in the frame. The sheets and the frame have the effect of defining a closed-off volume which is filled with at least one gas. At least one two-dimensional element is arranged between the sheets. An upper intermediate space is formed between the two-dimensional element and the frame vertically upwardly and a lower intermediate space is formed between the two-dimensional element in the frame vertically downwardly. A first cavity is between the first sheet and the two-dimensional element. A second cavity is between the two-dimensional element and the second sheet. The cavities are connected via the upper intermediate space and the lower intermediate space such that a convection flows between the cavities via the intermediate spaces. At least one means arranged in the intermediate spaces controls the convection flow.
Abstract:
Expandable-polymer-particle material comprising at least one thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) with Vicat softening point (in accordance with ISO 306/ASO) below 80° C. and from 5 to 95% by weight of at least one polymer obtainable via free-radical polymerization, based on the entirety of TPU and of the polymer obtainable via free-radical polymerization, where the polymer obtainable via free-radical polymerization has been bonded to the TPU in a manner that gives a comb polymer, graft polymer, or copolymer, is suitable for the production of moldings, in particular for use as insulation material.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a thermoformable melamine-formaldehyde foam comprising from 0.1 to 50 wt % of at least one particulate filling material, wherein the wt % are based on the total weight of filling material plus melamine-formaldehyde precondensate used for foam production, wherein the at least one particulate filling material has a melting point no higher than 220° C. and an average particle diameter in the range from 5 μm to 750 μm, to a process for producing the thermoformable melamine-formaldehyde foam and also to the use of the melamine-formaldehyde foam for acoustical or thermal insulation in building construction, in automobile, ship and track vehicle construction, the construction of spacecraft, in the upholstery industry or for insulating pipework lines.
Abstract:
The invention provides a molding producible by a process comprising the following steps: a) introduction of a foamable reactive resin into a support material and b) compressive deformation of the support material comprising the foamable reactive resin.
Abstract:
A process for the production of an at least two-layer thermoplastic foam sheet via symmetrical bonding, e.g., by thermal welding, of at least two thinner thermoplastic foam sheets to give the at least two-layer thermoplastic foam sheet. The invention further relates to thermoplastic foam sheets having at least two layers. The number of the layers of the thermoplastic foam sheet derives from the number of thin thermoplastic foam sheets that are thermally welded to one another.
