Abstract: A television volume control method and system are provided. According to the television volume control method, a television performs a process of a mutely turn-on mode after receiving a turn-on instruction, the process of the mutely turn-on mode comprising: acquiring a system time and determining whether the system time is within a preset rest time period or not; and the television being turned on mutely if it is determined to be within the preset rest time period, and being turned on normally if it is determined to be not within the preset rest time period. The problem of disturbing others due to a sound with a large volume being output suddenly when the TV is turned on is solved.
