Abstract: Provided is an integrated process for obtaining chemicals from renewable organic material by hydrotreatment including the steps of feeding the renewable organic material into at least one pre-treatment unit for removing any material not suitable as feedstock for subsequent hydrotreatment, feeding the pre-treated organic material from the at least one pre-treatment unit to at least one hydrotreatment unit for providing gas-oil like hydrocarbons from the pre-treated organic material in the presence of hydrogen and a catalyst, feeding the gas-oil like hydrocarbons from the at least one hydrotreatment unit into at least one steam cracker furnace unit for thermal cracking for providing a cracked product mixture; and feeding the cracked product mixture into at least one steam cracker fractionation unit for separating the cracked product mixture into high value chemicals in particular ethylene, propylene, butadiene and BTX aromatics, hydrogen, fuel gas and fuel oil.

Abstract: A method for removing ink and/or a foreign material different from ink from the surface of an article, wherein at least a part of the surface of the article comprises a polymer, the method includes: i) providing an ink imprinted article and/or an article having a surface covered at least partly by a foreign material different from ink; ii) contacting the article provided in step i) with an acid having a pKa in the range from −10 to 7 having a minimum concentration of 1 wt.-% for solving the ink and/or the foreign material different from ink or their degradation products in the acid; iii) separating the acid and the therein dissolved ink- and/or foreign material different from ink or their degradation products from the article to obtain a deinked article and/or an article with a surface free from foreign material.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a process for producing a modified olefin polymer having increased melt strength in an extruder. The process comprising the steps of: (A) contacting a stream comprising particles of an olefin polymer with a vapour stream of a functionally unsaturated compound in vapour phase thereby producing a first mixed stream; (B) passing the first mixed stream to an extruder; (C) melting the polymer particles of the first mixed stream in the extruder; (D) introducing a stream of a free radical generator either into the first mixed stream or into the extruder; and (E) extruding the first mixed stream and the free radical generator at a temperature which is greater than the decomposition temperature of the free radical generator and the melting temperature of the olefin polymer but less than the decomposition temperature of the olefin polymer thereby producing the modified olefin polymer in the extruder.
