摘要: The invention provides a hair treatment device (40) comprising a light-based detector (10) for detecting a hair (22) near a skin surface (21) and a method for detecting a hair (22) near a skin surface (21). The detector (10) comprises a light source (11), optical elements (14, 16, 17, 18) and a polarization-sensitive light sensor (12, 13). The light source (11) generates a light beam (31) and the optical elements (14, 16, 17, 18) focus the light beam (31) at a hair (22) near the skin surface (21). The polarization-sensitive light sensor (12, 13) is provided for detecting light interacted with the hair (22) or the skin surface (21) and having a predefined linear polarization. The light source (11) and/or the optical elements (14, 16, 17, 8) are arranged to cause the light beam (31), when reaching the skin surface (21), to have a polarization direction which is time-invariant and spatially variant in cross-sections of the 10 light beam.

摘要: A detector for detecting a birefringent object near a skin surface of a human body part or an animal body part includes a source for emitting optical radiation having first and second wavelengths and an incident polarization state. An imaging unit is configured to image the birefringent object near the surface includes a detection unit for detecting optical radiation scattered and/or reflected by the birefringent object and/or the surface at the first and second wavelengths. A control unit is configured to process a signal from the detection unit for discrimination between the birefringent object and the surface. The detection unit is configured to detect scattered and/or reflected optical radiation coming from the birefringent object and/or the surface, having a first polarization state corresponding to the incident polarization state and a second polarization state being different from the first polarization state.

摘要: The invention relates to a detector and a method, adapted for detecting a birefringent object near a surface, and to a shaving device adapted for detecting and for cutting a hair near a skin surface of a human body part or an animal body part. The detector (26) comprises a source (27) adapted for emitting optical radiation comprising at least a first wavelength, a second wavelength and an incident polarization state, and an imaging unit (28) adapted for imaging the birefringent object near the surface, wherein the imaging unit (28) comprises a detection unit (29) adapted for detecting optical radiation scattered and/or reflected by the birefringent object and/or the surface at the first wavelength and at the second wavelength, and a control unit adapted for processing a signal from the detection unit (29) for discrimination between the birefringent object and the surface, wherein the detection unit (29) is arranged for detecting scattered and/or reflected optical radiation coming from the birefringent object and/or the surface, comprising a first polarization state corresponding to the incident polarization state and a second polarization state being different from the first polarization state. In this way, detection efficiency and thus shaving quality are increased, at the same time energy consumption is reduced and also shaving safety is improved.

摘要: The invention relates to an optical blade and a hair cutting device, adapted for cutting a hair near skin of a human body part or animal body part. The optical blade (1), especially for use in a hair cutting device, comprises a blade body (3) adapted for guiding optical radiation, and a tapered end (2) adapted for allowing the optical radiation to exit the optical blade (1), wherein the tapered end (2) comprises a reflector adapted for redirecting the optical radiation before it exits the optical blade. In this way the balance of closeness vs. irritation is improved beyond the capabilities of conventional shaving systems and an optical blade is provided which is insensitive to the type of shaving additive used, while the manufacturing of the optical blade is made easier and costs are reduced.

摘要: A hair-detection device with a source of electromagnetic radiation, an imaging sensor and a radiation selection means. The selection means improves a ratio between a part of emitted radiation that is coupled into a skin which reaches the sensor and thus provides an image of the skin, and the part that reaches the sensor via other ways, such as reflection at the skin surface. The radiation may have a wavelength between about 700 nm and 1100 nm. The radiation selection means may for example include a separate wall around at least one of the source and the sensor, such as crossed polarizers. By means of this selection, the contrast of the image may be improved, and may be made less dependent on skin color and skin artifacts, thus enabling easier detection of for example, white hairs on a fair skin.

摘要: The invention provides a skin treatment device comprising a laser source (40) and focusing optics (50), such that a focal spot (18) is positioned in a dermis layer (24) of the skin to be treated. The laser beam (42) is powered and focused (16) such that a LIOB (laser induced optical breakdown) phenomenon is obtained, which affects the skin in order to stimulate re-growth of tissue. This in turn reduces wrinkles (30). The device may comprise wrinkle-determining means (52, 54, 56, 58). The focusing optics (50) may have a numerical aperture of at least 0.4. The invention also provides a corresponding method to treat skin, in particular to reduce wrinkles (30), by providing a focused laser beam (16) that causes LIOB in the dermis layer (24) of the skin. The advantage is that damage to overlaying epidermis layers may be avoided by the use of the very local LIOB phenomenon.
