    摘要: In a method of treating a sandstone-containing formation penetrated by a wellbore, a treatment fluid comprising an aqueous fluid containing a Bronsted acid, a hydrogen fluoride source and an organic acid or salt thereof that is substantially soluble in the aqueous fluid is formed. The treatment fluid contains less than about 2% of fluoride (F−) by weight of the fluid and from 2% or less of sodium (Na+) by weight of the fluid. The treatment fluid is introduced into the formation through the wellbore as a single-stage without introducing an acid-containing fluid preflush into the formation prior to introducing the treatment fluid.

    摘要: An acidic viscoelastic surfactant fluid composition is formulated with an acid, for example hydrochloric acid, a cationic surfactant, for example a quaternary amine, and a break-enabling salt, for example NH4Cl. The fluid composition has low viscosity as formulated, undergoes an increase in viscosity as the acid is consumed when it reacts with an acid-reactive material, and returns to approximately the initial viscosity as the last of the acid is consumed. The fluid composition is used as a diverting fluid or as the main treatment fluid in oilfield treatments such as matrix acidizing and acid fracturing.

The method includes injecting a well treating fluid into a well, wherein the well treating fluid includes a self-diverting acid that includes about 1% to 30% by weight of at least one acid selected from the group consisting of hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, formic acid, acetic acid, citric acid, maleic acid, hydrofluoric acid and mixtures thereof; and about 1% to 20% by volume of at least one viscoelastic surfactant selected from a family of compounds described by where R3 contains at least 10 carbon atoms, p=1-6, R2 contains 1-6 carbon atoms and R1 contains 1-6 carbon atoms; and about 0.7% to 20% by weight scale inhibitor.

    摘要: Liquids comprised solely of anions and cations (“ionic liquids”) are disclosed as novel components of fluids (and techniques relying upon those fluids) for stimulation of hydrocarbon wells. In particular, the fluids disclosed are useful in matrix acidizing. Formation of the ionic liquids of the present Invention is highly exothermic, hence the heat generated can be used, for instance, to melt de-watered drilling fluid in the near-wellbore region of the formation. Further, reaction of the ionic liquids with water results in acid generation; this acid can be used to, for instance, to stimulate a formation, either by conventional matrix acidizing or fracture acidizing. In addition, certain preferred species of the ionic liquids of the present Invention are highly stable solvents, hence they can be used as carrier fluids for highly reactive super acids (e.g., SbF5+HF) in connection with matrix acidizing.
