    摘要: A circuit analyzing system includes a current transformer for extracting current from a phase or neutral conductor of a three phase line, a filter connected to the output of the current transformer and functioning to substantially trap current at the fundamental frequency while substantially passing currents at various harmonic frequencies thereof, and signal processing circuitry connected to the output of the filter to perform various functions with the harmonic frequency current input thereto. Among these functions, as shown in various preferred embodiments, are measurement of the harmonic signal in RMS and conveyance of the output to a display instrument for a user or utility's convenience in monitoring harmonic frequency circuits, which have become more corrosion with the advent of electronic equipment having internal power supplies such as personal computers, work stations, printers, and the like. Other functions include a user or utility's connecting a demand circuit mechanism to the measured currents (preferably RMS/harmonic frequency currents), and/or using comparator circuitry to sense the measured harmonic frequency currents and, if they exceed a desired level set by the user or utility, to output a signal to a tripping device such as a power contactor or relay which will in turn institute load shedding.

    摘要: A separation tool has a multiple-sectioned cable-advance assembly which locates an electrical cable relative to cutting blades on an anvil assembly, portions of the advance assembly being displaced laterally to follow the positions of the cable wires during their separation. Cutters having multiple staggered edges of varying orientation relative to the cutting direction pierce the outer insulation of the cable and separate the cable wires as the cable is advanced onto the cutter blades. A uniform force is to be exerted throughout a cutting stroke by an operator of the tool. Spring loaded rods push the wires away from the cutters to free the wires at the conclusion of the separation operation.

    摘要: An improved night light incorporating effective safety features that greatly reduce the risk of electrocution by small children. The housing of the night light flares out towards its back surface to prevent an adult's or child's fingers from accidently contacting electrically live blades while inserting or removing it from an electrical receptacle. The blades are constructed so that their length is a function of the distance the blades are below the surface of a receptacle, the distance from the side of the blade where it protrudes from the back surface of the housing to the side edge of the housing and the distance from the bottom edge of the blade to the bottom edge of the back surface of the housing. A toggle provides on and off control of the night light. An open loop of spring metal provides the toggle with a snap action feel when operated. A snap on shade prevents glare to a user from direct exposure to the illuminating bulb.

    摘要: A self-contained or boxless electrical wiring device, such as a receptacle or switch, includes a body adapted to be mounted in an aperture in the wall of a building or a mobile home. The body houses wire grasping terminals for connection with the wires of electrical cable without requiring the stripping of insulation. Interior partitions support terminal members into which the insulated cable conductors are forced for terminating the device. The partitions are integrally formed with the front face and side walls of the body in a configuration which is readily molded. Mounting members, in the form of mounting pawls or crimp mounting members are formed at each end to permit installation near wall studs. The body is closed by a back cover having projections for driving the wires into the terminals, the cover being releasably secured via legs which engage the sidewalls.

    摘要: An electrical connector assembly for installation on a cable including a connector housing, a connector body lockably receivable in the housing, an adjustable grasping assembly for securely engaging the cable, and a collar threadably engagable on the housing for adjusting the grip on the cable. Advantageously, at least two clip members are mounted to the body and are formed with fastening portions adapted to engage receiving members in the housing for assembly of the body and housing without requiring threaded fasteners. Also advantageously, the housing is provided with a detent member adapted to project against the threads of the collar which is provided with abutment means to be abutted by the detent when reverse threading of the collar is attempted, but permit threading of the collar onto the housing in ratchet-like manner. Furthermore, the body may be formed with recesses extending radially inwardly thereof for retaining electrical contacts within the projected area of the body, and with apertures in the back of the body, providing access to the contact for an electrical conductor.
