摘要： A method for treating a hydrocarbon containing formation may include providing heat to a first hydrocarbon layer in the formation from a first heater located in an opening in the formation. The opening and the first heater may have a horizontal or inclined portion located in the first hydrocarbon layer and at least one connecting portion extending between the horizontal or inclined portion and the surface. Isolation material is placed in the opening such that the isolation material partially isolates the layer in which the horizontal or inclined portion of the first heater is located. An additional horizontal or inclined opening portion that extends from at least one of the connecting portions of the opening is formed in a second hydrocarbon layer. A second heater to provide heat the second hydrocarbon formation is placed in the additional substantially horizontal opening portion.

摘要： Disclosed is an auxiliary method for freeing a drill pipe stuck due to build up of filter cake, which provides a reduction in the amount of force required to free said pipe which comprises: a) Lowering an ultrasonic horn type device down the drill pipe to the point of contact between said drill pipe and mud filter cake; b) Producing ultrasonic energy at the point of contact until the contact area is sufficiently reduced such that substantially less force is required to free the pipe.

摘要： A method for producing an epoxy polyetherpolyol having 15 to 75 wt. % epoxy comprising heating a polyol and catalyst to initiate condensation, removing water, introducing sufficient epoxy into the reaction mixture to give 15 to 75 wt. % epoxy in the product. Generally, between 0.5 and 1.19 moles of water per mole of polyol are removed. In one embodiment at least 95 wt. % of all of the polyol is introduced initially into the reaction zone. In another embodiment the condensation is terminated prior to 93 percent completion. Also provided are novel compositions suitable for drilling fluids, adhesives and coatings.
