The system includes at least one electrical machine configured to convert a rotary mechanical power received from a main gear to a machine electrical power. The system further includes one or more electrical converters electrically coupled to the machine and configured to convert the machine electrical power from a direct current (DC) power to an alternate current (AC) power or from the alternate current (AC) power to the direct current (DC) power, where the converters generate a differential electrical power. A torque converter is electrically coupled to the electrical converters and generates a constant speed mechanical output employing the differential electrical power received from the one or more electrical converters.

    摘要: The invention relates to a wind energy system with hydraulic energy transmission with non-symmetric actuation. The non-symmetric actuation is caused by valve control and mechanical means for controlling the actuation of the pistons. A cylinder unit is provided comprising a drive unit and an output unit associated with two hydraulic connections. The drive and the output unit comprise a minimum of two cylinders, in which pistons are reciprocating. Some of the cylinders can be switched off during low wind speeds. The cylinders communicate with a low pressure manifold and a high pressure manifold. These manifolds are part of the hydraulic connections. Use of the fluid-working machine as transmission in wind energy systems increases the overall economical efficiency.

    摘要: A variable speed electric machine and a method for generating electric energy is provided. The electric machine includes an outer stator with a first set of field windings. Further, the electric machine includes a modulator outer rotor that is concentric and is located proximate to the outer stator. The modulator outer rotor is operatively coupled to an input shaft. Furthermore the electric machine includes a permanent magnet inner rotor concentric to the modulator outer rotor. The electric machine also includes an inner stator with a second set of field windings. The inner stator is concentric to the inner rotor and is operatively coupled to an electric grid. The outer stator, the modulator outer rotor, inner stator and the inner rotor are magnetically coupled with each other so as to maintain a constant electric frequency at the inner stator.
