Abstract: The present disclosure, in its various aspects, is directed to expandable guide devices, implementation methods, and related systems. In one example, an expandable guide device is configured to receive an instrument through an instrument lumen of the device. Each of a plurality of expandable members are disposed circumferentially about a body of the device that defines the instrument lumen, and each expandable member is configured to be independently transitionable between an expanded configuration and an unexpanded configuration.

Abstract: Systems and methods of delivering a patch to a target site of a patient are described herein. The patch may comprise a biomaterial such as chitosan or extracellular matrix and may be biocompatible and/or bioresorbable. The system may include an endoscope, a patch, and one of an instrument or a cap, the patch being coupled to the respective instrument or cap and detachable therefrom. Methods of delivering the patch to the target site may include introducing an endoscope into a gastrointestinal tract of a patient, e.g., the patch being in a folded or crimped configuration, navigating a distal end of the endoscope proximate a target site; and applying the patch to the target site while releasing the patch from the endoscope.

Abstract: A device for treating hemorrhoids includes a first ligating member which moves between a first position in which the first member is tightened to a degree required to maintain a desired position of the first member around the first portion without significantly cutting off blood flow and a second configuration in which the first member is cinched down around the first portion to substantially cut off blood flow to the encircled first portion. Also, the device includes a first applicator having a proximal lumen and first and second opposed distal lumens open to the proximal lumen. The first member is extending from a proximal end distally through the proximal lumen into the first lumen to exit a distal end of the first lumen, loop around and enter the distal end of the second lumen. The first member is passing through the second lumen into the proximal lumen.

Abstract: A device includes a balloon configured for inflation with a light-diffusing fluid and configured, upon inflation, to expand a body lumen within which it is positioned and a flexible light-emitting device attached to the balloon having a light-emitting side facing radially inward toward the fluid so that, during a medical procedure, light emitted from the light-emitting side is diffused by the fluid and illuminates a treatment area within the body lumen proximal to the balloon.
