摘要: Devices and methods for treatment of a patient's vasculature are described. Embodiments may include a resilient self-expanding permeable implant having a radially constrained elongated state configured for delivery within a catheter lumen and an expanded state with a longitudinally shortened configuration, and a plurality of elongate filaments which are woven together. Each of the plurality of elongate filaments may have a diameter between about 0.0005 and about 0.005 inches. The implant includes at least some filaments consisting of nitinol and at least some composite filaments that are drawn filled tube wires comprising an external nitinol tube and a highly radiopaque material concentrically disposed within the external tube. The implant has at least about 40% composite filaments relative to a total number of filaments, and wherein a total number of filaments is about 10 to about 300.

摘要: The present invention discloses a completely laparoscopic staged hepatectomy using round-the-liver ligation, which is carried out as follows: (1) a complete laparoscopic operation is performed with general anesthesia using round-the-liver ligation, the branches of the portal vein of the hemiliver to be removed are ligated, meanwhile a tourniquet is used to tighten the connecting part between the right and the left hemilivers to block the communicating blood flow between the hemiliver to be removed and the hemiliver to be reserved, a drainage tube is put into the peritoneal cavity at the hepatic hilus, then close the peritoneal cavity, and the operation is completed; (2) the patient gradually resumes eating after the first operation, and recuperate for 6-15 days to make the volume of the hemiliver to be reserved increase to the expected volume of the future liver remnant, in which the expected volume of the future liver remnant should be at least 30-40% of the standard liver volume; (3) after the volume of the hemiliver to be reserved has increased to the expected volume of the future liver remnant, a complete laparoscopic liver resection is carried out with general anesthesia to remove the diseased hemiliver, and then the patient is nursed to be completely recovered.

The snare loop assembly may include a snare and a suture loop releasably coupled to the snare and may at least partially extend from a distal end of the elongate body. The vacuum tube may be slidably positioned within the first lumen to extend through the snare loop assembly. The imaging device may be disposed within the lumen of the vacuum tube.

摘要: A multiple band endoscopic ligation device comprises a single pull string and a plurality of beads positioned on said pull string and between each successive band. The device is configured to be coupled to the distal end of an endoscope and is used to deploy multiple elastic bands around target tissues to be ligated. The device includes a tapered cylindrical body about which a plurality of elastic bands are stretched and positioned. The pull string includes multiple sets of two beads fixed to the string wherein one bead is placed directly behind and in contact with the other. The string is wrapped around the device's body and under each band such that at least one pair of beads is positioned between the elastic bands and one pair of beads is positioned proximally to the most proximal band. As the string is pulled, the beads push the bands sequentially off the distal end of the device and around a tissue to be ligated. The use of two adjacent beads on the string to push off each band ensures that the bands will not slip over the beads, thereby preventing a misfire.

摘要: A device for occluding an atrial appendage includes a catheter-deliverable epicardial implant that is detachably secured to a delivery device. The implant includes an inflatable cuff that is positionable about the atrial appendage to an extent that, when adjustably inflated, the cuff physiologically occludes the atrial appendage. Such occlusion addresses health risks associated with atrial fibrillation and cardiac rhythm disorder.

摘要: Methods for closing a left atrial appendage rely on introducing a closure tool from a location beneath the rib cage, over an epicardial surface, and to the exterior of the left atrial appendage. The closure device may then be used to close the left atrial appendage, preferably at its base, by any one of a variety of techniques. One specific technique uses graspers and a closing loop. Methods may include advancing a closure tool adjacent to the left atrial appendage using a sub-xiphoid approach and closing the left atrial appendage using the closure tool. Methods may also include advancing a loop adjacent to the left atrial appendage using a sub-xiphoid approach and closing the left atrial appendage using the loop.
