摘要: A device for treating hemorrhoids includes a first ligating member which moves between a first position in which the first member is tightened to a degree required to maintain a desired position of the first member around the first portion without significantly cutting off blood flow and a second configuration in which the first member is cinched down around the first portion to substantially cut off blood flow to the encircled first portion. Also, the device includes a first applicator having a proximal lumen and first and second opposed distal lumens open to the proximal lumen. The first member is extending from a proximal end distally through the proximal lumen into the first lumen to exit a distal end of the first lumen, loop around and enter the distal end of the second lumen. The first member is passing through the second lumen into the proximal lumen.

摘要: Embodiments herein relate to systems and methods for thawing cells using magnetic particles, such as Curie-magnetic or Néel-magnetic particles. In an embodiment, a cell storage medium for cryopreservation is included. The cell storage medium can include a cryoprotective agent; and a plurality of particles comprising a magnetic material. In an embodiment, a method for thawing a frozen cell sample is included. The method can include obtaining a frozen cell sample comprising particles, the particles comprising a magnetic material and applying an alternating electromagnetic field to the frozen cell sample to induce heating of the magnetic material. Other embodiments are also included herein.

摘要: A mitral valve leaflet repair system may include a delivery catheter having at least one lumen extending proximally from a distal end of the delivery catheter, a plurality of anchor elements disposed within the at least one lumen, each of the plurality of anchor elements being configured to extend through one layer of mitral valve leaflet tissue, and a securing element configured to secure at least two of the plurality of anchor elements together on one side of the mitral valve leaflet tissue. The at least one lumen may include a suction lumen configured to grasp a mitral valve leaflet prior to extending the plurality of anchor elements through one layer of mitral valve leaflet tissue.

And the second portion has a first side and a second, opposite side. The first side of the first portion is configured to be attached to the subject and the second portion is arranged on top of the first portion such that the first side of the second portion is disposed adjacent the second side of the first portion. And, the wearable device includes one or more electrical components configured to sense a physiological parameter of the subject.

摘要: Examples herein include prosthetic valves, valve leaflets and related methods. In an example, a prosthetic valve is included having a plurality of leaflets. The leaflets can each have a root portion and an edge portion substantially opposite the root portion and movable relative to the root portion. The leaflets can include a fibrous matrix including polymeric fibers having an average diameter of about 10 nanometers to about 10 micrometers. A coating can surround the polymeric fibers within the fibrous matrix. The coating can have a thickness of about 3 to about 30 nanometers. The coating can be formed of a material selected from the group consisting of a metal oxide, a nitride, a carbide, a sulfide, or fluoride. In an example, a method of making a valve is included.Other examples are also included herein.
