The steering mechanism may include an elongate steering member having a first end region coupled to the handle, a first body region extending along the catheter shaft, a loop region extending about the catheter shaft, a second body region extending along the catheter shaft, and a second end region coupled to the handle.

摘要: A catheter for ablating cardiac tissue through irreversible electroporation, the catheter comprises a tubular outer shaft and an electrode assembly extending distally from the distal end of the outer shaft. The electrode assembly defines a distally located central hub portion and a plurality of splines each extending proximally from the central hub portion. The electrode assembly comprises a flexible circuit having a flex circuit hub and a plurality of flex circuit branches integrally formed with and extending proximally from the flex circuit hub, the flexible circuit further including an outwardly-facing ablation electrode including an ablation electrode hub portion located on the flex circuit hub, and a plurality of ablation electrode branches integrally formed with the ablation electrode hub portion, each of the ablation electrode branches extending proximally along a portion of a respective one of the flex circuit branches and terminating in an ablation electrode proximal end.

摘要: An elongate medical device is adapted to provide adjustable flexibility. The elongate medical device includes an inner coil having one or more inner coil filars extending in a first direction, and an outer coil having one or more outer filars extending in a second direction. A hypotube extends proximally from the inner coil and the outer coil. A cable extends through the inner coil and through the hypotube, where a distal end of the cable, a distal end of the inner coil and a distal end of the outer coil are all secured together at a distal end of the elongate medical device, such that applying a tensile force to the cable, relative to the hypotube, causes the inner coil and outer coil in combination to increase in stiffness.

摘要: A steerable device and system allowing a steerable elongate member positioned within another steerable tubular elongate member to be steered independently of the steerable tubular elongate member. The steerable tubular elongate member may be steered in a first plane, bending the steerable elongate member therein in the first plane as well. A steering mechanism operatively associated with the steerable elongate member has a distal portion operatively associated with a steerable region of the steerable elongate member to steer such steerable region within a second plane transverse to the first plane. The steering mechanism is independently movable with respect to a portion of the steerable elongate member proximal to the steerable region so as not to affect the orientation of the steerable region to be steered into a second plane transverse to the first plane.
